Introduction

!his document "ill propose all features and procedures to develop

the system. !his documentation specially contain details about

objectives, scope, design model, primary re-uirements and nally

monitoring and reporting mechanisms.

Online /xamination %ystem is very useful for /ducational Institute

to prepare an exam, save the time that "ill take to check the

paper and prepare mark sheets. It "ill help the Institute to test

students and develop their skills. 0ut the disadvantages of this

system is that it takes a lot of time "hen you prepare the exam

for the rst time for usage. $nd "e need a number of computers

e-ual to the same number of students taking the exam.

!he e1ective use of 2Online /xamination %ystem2 is that any

/ducational Institute or training centers can use it to develop their

strategy for conducting exams, and for getting better results in

less time.

Online /xamination is being launched because a need for a

destination that is benecial for both Institutes and students. With

this site, institutes can host online exams. %tudents can takes

exams and vie" their results. !his site is an attempt to remove

the existing 3a"s in the manual system of conducting exams. !he

project "ill enable educational institutes to conduct test and have

automated checking of ans"ers based on the response by the

candidates.

Background

Online /xamination %ystem is a system through "hich many

educational institutions and all users can benet from. any

institutions use various paper materials and pens to process the

manual examination. 0ut in this system, it provides the student

information, -uestionnaires, and ans"ers and automatically

computes the scores. It isconducted through the "ebsite "hich

improves accessibility for remote candidates. +andidate is given a

limited time to ans"er the -uestions and after the time expiry the

ans"er paper is disabled automatically and ans"ers is sent to the

examiner. !he examiner "ill evaluate ans"ers, either through

automated process or manually and the results "ill be sent to the

candidate.

!oday many organi4ations conducts online examinations

"orld"ide successfully and issue results online. !here areadvantages and disadvantages in online examinations. !he

advantage is that it can be conducted for remote candidates and

evaluation of ans"ers can be fully automated for multiple choice.

5uestions can be evaluated manually or through automated

system, depending on the nature of the -uestions and the

re-uirements. !he disadvantage is there is no method to identify

"hether the exact students take that exam.

Online /xamination is very helpful to users. !he aim of this project

is to provide -uick, immediate and easy "ay to appear the exam.

It can provide special advantages to the students6applicants. !he

online examination system can automatically add the marks

allocated in each -uestion to determine the total mark for the-uestions. $ time limit can be set for the -uestions. Online

/xamination %ystem allo"s jumping to specic -uestions based

on the previous ans"er. !he online examination system limits the

number of times a student can "rite a -uestion. Login module

helps the user to login to the site. 7or that he6she must type the

username and pass"ord correctly. !he login provision in this page

helps the already registered user to directly access the site and

there is a link for registration to a user "ho is ne" to this site.%tudent module is mainly for the students. !his helps the students

to register for the exam and ans"er the exam. 7or registration

name, address, phone no, role id, pass"ord should be entered.

!his system "ill provide result after the exam according to correct

and "rong ans"er. $dministrator module is mainly for the

administrator. !his "ill contain the creation of -uestion paper,

previe" of already created -uestion paper, and the report of the

administrator. 7or creating the -uestion paper he6she must enter/xam I8, No9 of -uestions, total time 'in min(, arks per 5uestion,

Option type. 7or sho"ing the previe" of already created -uestion

paper he6she must enter the correct /xam id.
