This activity is designed to present important and practical new information, particularly for primary care clinicians and allied healthcare professionals who are interested in improving the health outcomes of patients with cardio-vascular disease. This continuing education activity will highlight the practical aspects of recent scientific recommendations and guidelines on several topics, including: updates on drug eluting stents and interventional strategies; current and emerging antithrombotic treatments; strategies for treatment and management of heart failure and atrial fibrillation; utilizing the optimal diagnostic tests for chest pain syndromes; local efforts to implement the Door-to-Balloon initiative for treating acute STEMI; best evidence for identifying peripheral vascular diseases; evaluating effectiveness of riskfactor modification; and, recognizing the role of cardiac vascular imaging in the diagnosis of cardiovascular diseases.

Accreditation: The University of Florida College of Medicine is accreditedby the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education to provide continuing medical education for physicians.

After attending this activity, participants should be able to:

At the UF Division of Cardiology, our internationally recognized faculty are leaders in cardiac care, research and education.
