Paul Grainge - PD Ports
Paul Grainge Cert Ed MSyI is the Security Manager and Port Facility Security Officer for PD Ports. PD Ports is one the UK’s largest Port Operators with UK wide interests on the Humber, Felixstowe, Thames and the Isle of Wight. Paul is tasked with managing security at the facilities at both Tees Dock and Hartlepool Dock. Based in Middlesbrough, Paul oversees the in house team of Security Officers and all associated physical security measures while complying with the International Ship and Port Facility Security (ISPS) Code and UK Port Security legislation. Paul besides has active role in other areas including Training, BC Management, IT security and even Civil Engineering projects. Paul has worked for PD ports for 29 years, his career developing from Deckhand on the harbour master’s launch through PD Ports’ own separate harbour police force to his current role. With the support of his employer Paul has gained qualifications in Security and CCTV Management, Criminal Justice Administration, Mentoring and Assessing and a Certificate in Education. In addition to his day to day role Paul is the Secretary of the Tees and Hartlepool Port Security Authority, an organisation he assisted in setting up in response to changes imposed following the introduction of the Port Security Regulations 2009. Away from work Paul has served with the Army Reserves for 25 years in the Royal Military Police.
Dr Declan Garrett – National Gallery of Ireland
Dr Declan Garrett is a Doctor of Security Risk Management. Dr
Garrett is responsible for the security of the art collection of the
National Gallery of Ireland and the safety of its employees and
visitors. He serves on ASIS Internationals Cultural Properties
Council and chairs their Museum Committee. He is also the Head
of International Research and a Governor of the Board of
Governors for Academic Standards at the Security Institute of
Ireland. Dr Garrett is a thought leader on Private Security Career
Paths and he has spoken at seminars on topics including
Museum Security, Counter Terrorism, Career Paths and Training
and Education. Dr Garrett has contributed to European research
project teams that developed competences for the private
security sector.

Elizabeth France, CBE- Security Industry Authority
Elizabeth France was appointed Chair of the SIA Board in January 2014. She is also Chair of the Police Advisory Board for England and Wales, a member of the British Transport Police Authority, Pro Chancellor of Aberystwyth University and a member of the General Assembly of Manchester University.
Until 31 March 2014 Elizabeth was Chair of the Office for Legal Complaints. From 2002 to 2009 she was Chief Ombudsman and Chief Executive of the Ombudsman Service Ltd., which provided the Telecommunications Ombudsman Service (Otelo), the Energy Ombudsman Service and the Surveyors Ombudsman Service. She was a Non-Executive Director of the Serious Organised Crime Agency from 2005-2010. Elizabeth began her career in the Home Office, resigning to become the Data Protection Registrar in September 1994 and becoming Information Commissioner in January 2001. Elizabeth has been awarded honorary doctorates by the Universities of De Montfort, Loughborough and Bradford and is a Fellow of Aberystwyth University. In June 2002 she was awarded a CBE, for services to data protection.
Mike Gillespie - Advent IM
Mike is an experienced, senior information security practitioner of many years’ standing and is well versed in the threat to organisational information assets. An active member of the Security Institute since 2008, Mike was voted onto the board of Directors in 2013 and given special responsibility for Cyber Research and Strategy. Recently, having been a member of the CSCSS Global Cyber Security Select Committee for some time, he has been asked to take on the role of Vice President of CSCSS and assist the organisation with continuing to promote thought leadership and awareness to a global audience on the current threats to organisational information assets emanating from cyberspace. As a subject matter expert Mike is called upon regularly to speak at events and contribute editorial, including for the BBC and The Sunday Times as well as regular industry media. He is also part of the editorial board for Professional Security Magazine.

Michael White - G4S
Michael has nearly twenty years’ experience working in security
management throughout the UK gained in both the public and
private sectors across a wide range of sectors including shopping
centres (that includes centres in Taunton, Tunbridge Wells,
Coventry, Gloucester and Great Yarmouth as well as time as the
National Account Manager (UK) for Westfield), offices, distribution
centres, event security, diplomatic security, utilities and media
organisations as well as The London Stock Exchange. Proficient
across the operational and compliance process he has worked in
partnership with blue-chip clients across the UK to strengthen
their security provision, enhance their service delivery, implement
robust and resilient security procedures and undertake
operational security audits and threat assessments. Michael is
currently Head of Risk and Compliance (UK and Ireland) at G4S. He
is the former Chairman of IPSA, a Director of the Security Institute,
and holds memberships in the ASIS UK and the Institute of
Directors and is a Freeman of The City of London through his
membership of the Worshipful Company of Security Professionals.
Maxine Fraser - Retailers Against Crime
Maxine joined Retailers Against Crime (RAC) in 1998 and has been
instrumental in expanding the membership from 47 stores in
Scotland to over 1500 stores today throughout Scotland, Northern
Ireland and North West England. Maxine has an extensive
knowledge of retail crime and she and her team continue to
identify individuals and organised crime groups who travel
throughout the UK often resulting in preventing theft before it
happens. In her current role, as well overseeing the operation of
Retailers Against Crime nationally, Maxine continues to work
closely with police and crime partnerships to target retail criminals
plus providing training in retail crime prevention and reduction.
She is committed to changing the way that retail crime is perceived
by the wider community and the younger generation by engaging
with relevant agencies to raise awareness.
