Chapter 1

I was sitting outside a café in town, waiting for Alice ad Rosalie to

join me. I was reading Wuthering Heights while waiting when a group of

giggles attracted my attention. Strutting around the corner, was the most

popular girl in our school with her “disciples”, Brittney, Bambi, and Beauty.

Of course they’re beautiful, if you call faces caked in make up, short skirts

and shirt’s, and designer handbags beautiful.

But for some reason guys just seem to like girls that way. Oh yeah,

they sure like stupid blonde giggling girls who can’t even spell their last

name. The “It” group leader Tanya with her million dollar plastic surgery

face and strawberry blonde hair only hates me for about three reasons.

One, I have accomplished way more than she ever has. Two, I’m way

smarter than her. And three, I am friends with the three hottest boys in our

school. Emmett, Jasper, and Edward.

Jasper and Rosalie Hale are fraternal twins that live across the street

from me and Alice my sister. Emmett and Edward Cullen are brothers that

live right next door. Edward and I have been best friends since we’ve been

born, sneaking over to each other’s rooms by the big tree between our

bedroom windows so we could hang out.

Emmett is like the brother I’ve never had, so protective and caring. He

makes everyone laugh in the worst times, plays for the school’s football

team, and is Rosalie’s boyfriend.

Jasper is a great person to open up to when you need a shoulder to cry

on or just need a friend. He is Alice’s boy friend.

Tanya’s blue eyes met mine and she sneered.

“Swan,” She spat.

“Witch,” I saluted and grinned.

Tanya, unable to create a smart comeback, just sniffed and flipped her

hair. Her followers did the same and walked into the café. I rolled my eyes

and began reading my book again.

“Bella!” A voiced called in excitement.

I looked up to see Alice and Rosalie walking towards me with

sopping bags. I smiled and waved back as they sat down in the chairs next to

me.

“Ugh, what did you do this time Bella?” Alice grimaced as she looked

over my clothes.

My t- shirt and jeans had dirt on them and my jacket had one paint

ball splotch on it.

“Paint ball with the guys, what else?” I said obviously.

“I swear. You have more guy’s genes than girls. Are you sure you’re

not a Trans gender?” Rose joked.

“Ha ha very funny, no I’m not.”

“You’re going to wake up one day and realize you want to be a girl.”

Alice warned.

“Yeah yeah, whatever,” I waved her off.

“Who won the battle?” Rose asked me.

“I did, but the guys still wanted to play so they started another war

without me.” I shrugged.

“Bells, we’re all going out to the movies tonight. How does that

sound?” Alice asked.

Page 3: One of the boys

“Great,” I said sincerely. It’s been a long time since I’ve gone to the

movies.

“Kay, why don’t you go home and clean up and we’ll pick you up in

an hour?”

“Sure, see you!” I got up and grabbed my skateboard from the bike

rack before riding off.

I pushed harder and flew down the side walk, passing trees, walking

moms on their afternoon walk with their dogs, and kids skipping merrily to

the nearby park. I clutched my book harder and hummed a little tune. It was

a nice sunny day in Forks which was odd because it always rains here.

My board moved swiftly around the corner and soon I was in the nice

and fancy part of Forks where I unfortunately live. I mean honestly, there are

so many blondes and Chihuahuas in here I lost count. All are giggling

machines-well, except for Rose and Alice- that love to spend their daddy’s

money on obscene amount of clothes and jewelry.

I skidded to a stop in front of my house. It was big and white with two

foreign cars parked in front of it. The house had white trim on it, it was four

stories, had a really pretty flower garden with a little pond, and a wicked

pool.

I tossed my board into a dead bush and walked up to the front door.

Before I could knock or try and open the door, a big shadow appeared

behind me. I turned around with my fists raised.

Emmett, Jasper, and Edward were covered in multicolored paint and

each held a watering hose with evil smiles on their faces.

“NOW!” Emmett yelled and I was dosed with water in a second. I

tried to open my eyes and failed miserably.

Page 4: One of the boys

I grabbed for the first thing I could get my hands on and it happened

to be big, holding a still spraying hose, and covered with muscles. Emmett. I

felt around for the head of the hose and clasped my hand over the nozzle,

cutting off the flow of water.

I spluttered and opened my stinging eyes.

Emmett was grinning at me.

“Cullen,” I said deathly, and before he could process it, I stole his

hose and starting spraying him with it.

“ARGH!” He yelled and dropped me.

I laughed manically and started to spray both the boys.

“NO! SWAN CUT IT!” Jasper yelled and turned his head away from

my hose and tried to spray me.

We continued our spray wars for a long time, and I didn’t even know

it was an hour later when I heard the voice of an evil pixie and her

accomplice.

“BELLA!” Two female voices yelled.

We stopped spraying immediately. I looked at my worst nightmares in

the eye. Rose and Alice were glowering at me.

“All four of you, get cleaned up and dressed now.” Rose said in a

deadly calm.

We just stared at them in shock.

“That...means…NOW!” They screamed and we ran into our houses.

I raced up the stairs and made a right at the hallway into my room.

Alice and Rose were sure to come up any second so I grabbed the first thing

that was in my drawers. The thumping of footsteps coming up the stairs told

me they were close and I hastily slipped on my last piece of clothing before

waiting to feel the wrath of Rosalie and Alice.

Page 5: One of the boys

My door slammed open and there stood the devils themselves.

“Bella! We told you we were going to be at your place in an hour!”

Alice chastened.

“I know, I know, but the guys just snuck up on me and you know how

water fights are my thing. I just can’t ignore them.” I said quickly.

They sighed.

“We’ll let this go, once. But again, and you will be coming on our

shopping trips with us.” Rose said menacingly.

“Let’s go, I really want to see this movie!” Alice yanked me up from

my bed and we walked out of my house into Alice’s yellow Porsche.

“The boys will meet us there. We already have tickets ordered.” Alice

pulled out of my driveway and sped down the road.

When we got to the movie theater, sure enough, the guys were next

to Emmett’s jeep in the parking lot, waiting for us. We parked next to the

guys and got out of the car.

“Hey girlies and Bella,” Emmett grinned and I punched him on the

arm.

“Ow,” He grumbled.

“Nice to see you too Emmett,” I patted his cheek and he swatted my

hand away.

“Just be lucky I can’t hit a girl Swan,”

“Oh that’s not it. You’d just be afraid I’d fight back,”

He mussed my hair and I tried to smooth it out.

We walked into the theater and sat down in the seats in the way back.

“Please don’t tell me this is a chick flick,” Edward whispered to me.

“I don’t know what it is, but I hope not,” I shrugged as my heart

fluttered.

Page 6: One of the boys

Oh yeah, did I mention I’ve had this huge crush on him since the

seventh grade? To me, Edward’s always been more than a friend.

The movie passed quickly, and to Emmett, Jasper, Edward, and me’s

dismay, it was a chick flick. It was called “My sister’s keeper”. Emmett and

I were in tears as well as Rosalie and Alice. But Jasper looked like he was

close to it too. Edward was the only person that was sleeping through the

whole movie.

“C’mon, wake up Cullen,” I hit his head and he woke up with a grunt

and his eyes flew open.

“Oh sorry,” He said sheepishly and exited the theater with us.

“Damn, they are here.” Rose sneered.

And when I followed her line of sight, sure enough, Tanya and her

groupies were in the lobby of the theater, giggling and reapplying lipstick

like crazy. Bambi whispered to Tanya and her eyes flashed over to us.

She looked right at Edward and looked him up and down. She grinned

like the devil her self and sort of did this ridiculous strut over to us.

“Hey Edward,” She purred and licked her lips.

“Tanya,” He smiled a little too warmly at her.

My eyes narrowed slightly. Oh no, back away wicked witch of the

west!

“My friends and I were wondering if you would like to join us for

dinner,” She batted her fake eye lashes at him.

“Oh, I would love to Tanya, but I’m here with my friends,” He was

still smiling back at her.

I had to swallow the bile rising in my throat.

“Maybe some other time?” Tanya pressed.

“That would be great,” He said sincerely.

Page 7: One of the boys

“Kay, bye,” She strutted back off again to her friends.

My eye almost twitched.

Jasper, Rose, and Alice stared at me. They both new I liked him.

“Let’s go, I want to get to bed early. I’m not feeling so well,” Alice

came to my rescue.

“Okay. Let’s roll gang.” Emmett agreed and we set back off to our

cars.

“Are you okay Bella?” Alice asked me as we entered the car.

“Fine,” I forced a smile.

Rose and Alice gave me a doubtful look, but drove home.

Alice dropped off Rosalie ad then parked the car in the garage.

My feet trudged up the stairs one at a time and finally made it to my

bedroom in what seemed like hours later. I heaved my door open, closed it,

and fell onto my bed in a heap. I screamed into my pillow. I hate Tanya.

What’s she got that I don’t have? I mean she’s mean, arrogant, stupid,

selfish, a slut. Oh yeah, she’s pretty and I’m not. It took me a while to

realize what was missing. But when I did, it just clicked.

I wore sneakers, torn jeans, sweat shirts, t- shirts, and sweat pants.

And what did she wear? She wore high heels, skirts, make up, tank tops,

push up bras, and other expensive brand names. So the reason why I’ve

never been asked out is because I don’t act like a girl and look like one. And

if Edward wants a girly girl, a girly girl is what he will get, I thought

determinedly.

I hopped off y bed with a new vengeance and marched into Alice’s

room. She was sitting on the bed reading a magazine. She looked up.

“Hey Bella, what’s up?” She smiled.

I rubbed the back of my neck.

Page 8: One of the boys

“Well, I don’t really know how to say this, but um, well I… I

wantobecomeagirl.” I rushed out quickly.

“What?” She was puzzled.

“You know how…how you said some day I would want to become

like you… you know….a girl….”

“Yes,” She said slowly.

“W-well I think that time has come,” I said a little brave.

A giant smile slowly creeped across her face and her eyes went wild.

She screamed at the top of her lungs and launched herself right at me.

“Thank you thank you thank you! It’s been my dream to make you a

girl!” She hugged me fiercely.

“Can’t…BREATHE!” I huffed out of my tight throat.

She let go and air whooshed out of my lungs.

“It’s for Edward isn’t it?” Her blue eyes sparkled.

“Yes,” I mumbled out.

“What? I can’t hear you?” She taunted.

“YES IT”S FOR HIM ALRIGHT!” I yelled.

“I knew it, I knew it!” She got up and chanted.

I got off the floor too and brushed the dirt off my jeans.

Alice grabbed her cell phone and sat down on her bed excitedly.

“Alice, what are you….” I trailed off.

“Rose! It’s time! She’s actually wanting to become one of us!” Alice

yelled into the phone.

There was a scream on the other end and the sound of a door opening

and closing. In about ten seconds, Alice’s bedroom door opened and Rosalie

bounded in.

“YES! Finally!” She exclaimed and hugged me.

Page 9: One of the boys

Rose let go and turned to Alice.

“Where do you want to start first? Shopping or make up?”

“Shopping. You have no idea what’s in my sister’s closet.” Alice

shuddered.

“Sounds like a deal. I’ll meet you at your house by nine tomorrow.”

Rosalie said and dramatically left the room.

I turned to Alice.

“Should I be scared?”

“No, in our hands you have nothing to be afraid of.” Alice said with a

wink.

Chapter 2

“What is this? It looks like floss.” I held a black stringy thing between

my fingers that Alice had tossed at me.

“A thong. You wear it under skirts and dresses so you can hide the

outline of your underwear.” Rosalie explained.

“Oh,” I said in realization. That actually made sense. For girlie girls,

it’s supposedly embarrassing for your underwear to show.

I was attacked with many pieced of lingerie that made me blush. I

mean I wouldn’t wear these for someone would I? Alice had insisted that she

pay for the whole make over this weekend. And I didn’t object. She was

using her credit card so it would come out of our family’s bank account

either way.

Page 10: One of the boys

We were now heading to the salon to give me a new and improved

hair cut. The place reeked of hair products and hair spray. Women were

getting hair cuts and talking about the gossip in the magazines in front of

them.

Alice and Rosalie were apparently tight with the stylists so we got me

into a chair right away. I got the only male stylist here. At least I know he

won’t get fresh with me because he’s gay. Seriously, lip gloss and mascara is

a big tip off.

The dude washed my hair and began to work on it expertly. I was

honestly afraid of how much hair that was falling to the floor, but I was

doing this for Edward, doing this for Edward. It was about 45 minutes later

when I was finished.

“There darling, you’re done.” He stepped back and let me look at his

work.

Alice and Rosalie joined the stylist behind me in the mirror.

“Very nice Deanna. I love the dark brown high lights, layers, and side

bangs. She looks hot.” Alice approved.

I blushed. I did look pretty.

“Thank you very much, we have to be going. We don’t want to be late

for our Mani’s and Pedi’s.” Rosalie gave air kisses to Deanna and then we

left after I thanked him as well.

The nail salon was actually a little relaxing. My Mani and Pedi were

being done at the same time so all I had to do was sit back and close my

eyes. I had picked out a pale and feminine pink that went nice with my ivory

skin tone. Alice and Rosalie were getting the same treatment as me.

“Are you sure he’s worth it Bella? I mean, how you look right now,

you could probably get any guy you wanted.” Rosalie said to me.

Page 11: One of the boys

“Yes, I’m sure. He’s the one Rosalie.” I said softly as a white rose

was being stuck to my big toe.

The rest of the day was spent with more shopping. I wasn’t surprised

that I was tired when I came home. I flung my bags into my room and fell

into an exhausted heap onto my bed. Edward was worth it. He was worth

every make over, hair do, every shave of my legs. And when I walk through

the school front doors, I will finally capture his attention in the way I want it.

Chapter 3

“Ready Bella?” Alice asked me.

We just pulled into the parking lot at school. I was officially

improved. I had on make up, a black jean mini skirt with a belt that had a

cute belt buckle on it, a skin tight white v-neck that showed a lot of

cleavage, and sexy black suede knee high boots. In my opinion, I looked hot.

“Ready,” I said confidently. I slung my back pack over my shoulder

and exited the car to face one shocked school.

Alice and Rosalie walked with me into the school, arm in arm. People

who passed us looked at me with open mouths and boys eyes looked down

at my chest. I was disgusted by that part.

“Edward, Emmett, and Jasper are up ahead.” Rosalie warned me.

I nodded and strutted more confidently. They looked at me and Jasper

and Emmett’s eyes bout popped out of their heads. Edward had to take a

double take and looked like he was about to jump me right here.

We just smirked and continued to walk down the hall.

“Damn, was that Bella?” I heard Edward say after we passed.

Alice, Rosalie, and I giggled. Today was sure to be interesting.

Page 12: One of the boys

It was time for biology, the only class I had with Edward. I sat down

in my seat and waited nervously for him. He entered the room, his eyes

straight to where I was sitting. Edward sat down next to me like he always

does but this time he sat down very close to me instead of the arms length

away distance we were used to.

He opened his mouth to speak, but Mr. Banner started talking and he

was forced to pay attention to him. Through out the whole class period,

Edward would look at me from the corner of his eye. I couldn’t help but feel

confident.

The bell rang, signaling the end of class and I started packing up my

stuff.

“Bella,” Edward spoke to me.

I looked up at him.

“Yes?” I batted my eye lashes like Rosalie taught me too.

The trick worked because his breath caught and his green eyes

darkened to a jade.

“I was umm… I was wondering if you would…like to go out with

me?” He stuttered.

I was going to tell him off course, but then I remembered what Alice

said. Leave them always wanting more. I hid my smile.

“Maybe,” I shrugged.

He blinked twice in confusion.

“Wait, what?”

“I said maybe. I haven’t decided, bye Edward.” I stroked his cheek.

He exhaled and his eyes fluttered close. Edward seemed to collect

himself slightly and opened his eyes.

Page 13: One of the boys

I gave him a sultry smile and left the biology room. This was going to

be fun.
