From Your Case Managers

Don’t go in & out of doors needlessly. Frequent opening and closing of

doors wastes heat and money

Caulk, seal or weather-strip all seams, cracks & openings to the outside.

You can save 10% or more on your energy bill by reducing air leaks in your home.

You can use heavy-duty clear plastic sheets that are taped tightly to the

inside of your windows to reduce heat escape through windows.

Keep draperies & shades on your south-facing windows open during the

day to allow sunlight to enter your home and closed at night to reduce

chill you may feel from the windows. During the cooling season keep

window coverings closed during the day to prevent heat from the sun.

INGREDIENTS

8 slices bacon

5 (15 oz) cans corn kernels, drained

1 c. milk 1 tbsp. sugar

Kosher Salt

Black Pepper 1 (8 oz) block cream cheese, quartered

1/2 c. (1 stick) butter, cut into tablespoons

Thinly slices green onions, for garnish

DIRECTIONS

1. In a nonstick skillet over medium heat, cook bacon until crispy, 8 minutes.

Drain on a paper towel-lined plate, then crumble.

2. In a slow cooker, add corn, 3/4 of the cooked bacon, milk, and sugar and season

with salt and pepper. Stir until combined, then top with cream cheese and butter.

3. Cover and cook on high for 2 hours or low for 6 hours, stirring well after 1 hour.

4. Garnish with remaining 1/4 of cooked bacon and green onions before serving.

INGREDIENTS

1 fully cooked ham (any size will work

as long as you have a slow cooker large

enough for it) Glaze:

1 1/4 cups brown sugar

1/4 cup honey 1/4 cup spicy brown mustard

3/4 cup Dr. Pepper (half of a can)

1/4 cup maple syrup

DIRECTIONS

1. Score ham by using a sharp knife to cut lines into

ham in a criss cross pattern. The lines only need to be about 1/8th of an inch deep. Fill slow cooker with about 1 inch of water. Place ham in slow cooker.

Cover and cook on low for 4-6 hours.

2. 1 hour before serving, prepare the sauce. Whisk together all sauce ingredients in a medium sauce pan. Bring to a boil, then reduce to a simmer and cook for 10

minutes. Remove from heat and allow to thicken for 5-10 minutes.

3. Drain water and ham juices from slow cooker. Pour sauce over ham inside the slow cooker, being sure to cover the whole ham. Cover and cook another 30

minutes. Place ham on serving dish. Carve/slice the ham and spoon the remain-

ing sauce from the slow cooker over the ham. Serve warm. Enjoy!

INGREDIENTS

4 lb. russet potatoes, peeled and cut into 1"

pieces

1/2 tsp. kosher salt, plus more for seasoning

1 c. sour cream

1/3 c. sliced fresh chives, plus more for gar-

nish

1/2 c. warm milk

Freshly ground black pepper

quart slow cooker until potatoes are tender, on high for 2 1/2 to

3 hours or on low for 4 to 5 hours.

2. Drain and return potatoes to slow cooker. Add sour cream and

mash to desired consistency. Fold in chives and warm milk (add

more milk to loosen if desired).

3. Season with salt and pepper. Serve warm, topped with chives.
