• Knowles was born in Houston, Texas on Sept. 4, 1981. • Her full name is Beyonce Giselle Knowles and her parents are Matthew, a

record manager, and Tina, a stylist. • As a child, Knowles sang and danced in school and church performances. She

joined a newly formed girl's singing group, Girl's Tyme, at the age of eight, and got the chance to compete on Star Search. T

• The group lost early on, but continued to perform. Knowles' father acted as manager and worked hard to get the girls exposure to record labels.

• After a few false starts and a name change to Destiny's Child in 1993, the four-girl group grew more popular over the next four years, performing for local venues and blending pop, R&B and soul sounds.

MY FAVORITE #1 SONG IS AND WHY?

• My favorite #1 song is “Halo” because of the message the song tells. In the lyrics “remember those walls you build, baby there trembling down they couldn’t even put up a fight they didn’t even make a sound” Beyonce is referring to her own life and experiences and with it being personification she is giving the walls human traits such as fighting. Basically, this new guy she's got in her life is an angel and he's everything she could ever ask for. His "halo" is what's making her so happy and she prays that he wont go away. and when she says "i swore I'd never fall again. but this don't even feel like falling." means she probably had a bad relationship in the past and swore she'd never fall in love again, but he makes her feel so special that she can't help but fall in love with him and it doesn't feel like it cause he is the best thing that has happened to her.
