On September 6, 2017 at approximately 12:30 p.m. a Tomah Police Officer conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for an equipment violation. Through normal person checks of the vehicle occupants, the Patrol Officer identified inconsistent responses and ultimately determined one of the vehicle occupants was providing a false name and date of birth.
Continued investigation lead to the subject’s real name, RONALD DELANEY SMITH JR. from Chicago, IL.
SMITH was taken into custody for obstructing an officer by providing false identification. SMITH was found in possession of illegal drugs and large amount of cash.
4.1 grams of heroin 46 grams of methamphetamine $6,194.00 cash
Investigators from the Monroe County Joint Investigative Task Force (MCJITF) are assisting with this case.
SMITH was transported to the Monroe County Jail and booked for the above mentioned charges.
