Choose your topic: An athlete, sport, an event, funding…

Use a web to plan your ideas Collect some images

Ensure that they are not plagiarized Ask permission of the original author Draw some images and scan them

Edit the slide masters to suit you Slice colour, composition, font, text colour Use the 5 principles of design (see next page) Use spell checker Ask a friend to peer edit it Add sounds, if they will enhance Add motion, but remember to K.I.S.S. it!

(Simpler is better!) Thank about how your slides change:

Record action, timings, sounds, narration Do a final run-through and ask:

it is too busy, to distracting, too simple, too long or short?

Guidelines

Start with an introduction: 100 word essay assignment is a good start! Copy your text into the “click to add notes” section No more than 10 items per slide No more than a few words for each piece of text ‘jot note’ ideas, no full sentences
