Integral elementsAre there integral elements that often form key elements within your work – in other words how do you best generate and create your own designs/imagery.

I take a very clean and clinical approach to my work in both editorial and branding. I do enjoy manipulating images in my editorial work whether this been using duo-tones, trio-tones cropping. In my branding work I also take a simple clean approach mainly using vector based work or hand rendered type. I find it easier working mainly on screen with a few key ideas / thoughts on paper. I have also selected a pallet of type faces that is keep find I’m using such as Universe, Futura, Avant Garde and a few Others I have also found that I have had to broaden my colour pallet to I found that I was using blue to much in second year and first semester of third year.

SuccessWhat are your strengths? Where have you been most successful? What do you think was the reason for that positive experience?

I feel that I have been most successful with Three Projects, which are Gen II Branding, Watermark editorial and Travel Focus editorial. I feel the Gen II was successful due to vector Image, colour and chose of typeface I feel they all work together and portrayed the right image for what the company was looking for. With the Watermark I feel my chose of image manipulation colour scheme and lay out where successful for what the document was needed for. My Image manipulation technique did catch the clients eye and was used in the final product. I feel the travel focus supplement was successful because of my use of colour as a guiding mechanism and it gave me a chance to loosen up and study a dream of mine which is travelling the world because all the countries featured in the supplement are places I want to visit.

PersonalityWhat are you interested in, what are you about? Do you feel you have been able to introduce your personality and interests in your work. In what creative direction do you want to proceed in the future?

I am mainly interested in Branding and information graphics even thought I did not get a proper chance to utilise information graphics properly this semester’s work apart from the FSC Annual report I have incorporated into my personal branding mainly the mailer that will be sent out to potential Job opportunities I think either Information Graphics or branding is where my future will lie in. I feel that I can get more of my personality through when working with Information Graphic and branding.
