Improving the School Environment

Over the summer break the school has see a great deal of change! The governing board have ensured that a large investment was made into the site as it is vital to have an outstanding learning environment if you want to achieve outstanding outcomes! Lots of money has been spent directly on rooms or areas that are used by our children.

It has been great to received positive feedback already from parents after seeing the outside areas and hope that will continue when you see the rest of the changes!

I have dedicated the inside spread of this newsletter to sharing photographs showing you both before and after the summer works! We will be arranging opportunities for parents to see the rest of the works as the term progresses.

I would like to take this opportunity to say a special thank you to Mrs Babhania, our School Business Manager, for working with me for nearly a year on getting the site improvements planned, ordered and completed but also to Carlton, our Site Supervisor, who has worked incredibly hard over the summer, including weekends to make sure the school was ready for the start of a new year.

KS1 Corridors Before… The downstairs hall corridor, the KS1 corridor and KS1 cloakroom corridor have all been decorated and carpeted so they are attractive, warmer and quieter! Take a look at the difference!

KS1 Corridors After... We have even lowered the ceiling in the KS1 corridor and installed better energy efficient lighting so it is brighter and cheaper to run! The change makes it feel like different school!

Classrooms Before…. Classrooms After… Decorated, carpeted, storage & new furniture; the rooms look great!

An the old library… ...has become a brand new Food Tech Room: The Cooking Zone!.. With four separate kitchen areas and height adjustable tables, the room will help all our children become master chefs of

the future!

And the old cloakroom… ...has become our new school library! Both the new Cooking Zone and new Library still need time to finish preparing with furniture and resources, they will be launched for the children to use after the

October half term break. A newspaper article in 1938 about the school opening talked about the site being one of the best in the country! I hope you can see that we are continuing to invest in the school to make sure it provides the very best educational experience for the children.

Medical Information or Food Allergies If your child has a medical condition or a food allergy that we should know about and you have not already told us, please let the school know the details as soon as possible. It is very important that we have knowledge of your child’s medical condition and any medications they may require. If your child does have a condition that requires us to keep medication in school please make sure that you have signed a consent form and passed it to Mrs Deckett.
