Red Pandas are the
cutest creatures you
will ever see, but you
probably won’t. It
makes me so sad that
these animals are en-
dangered, as I have
only seen them in the
pictures. They are the
size of a raccoon,
weigh about 12
pounds and have red
fur. Their habitat is in
the deep, foggy forests
in the Foothills. They
love to play and eat
lots and lots of bam-
boo. Once you see
them, you will know
what I’m talking
about !!!

****The Hunger Games***
This book is about how it is the future where there is
this war and out comes the twelve districts. To punish the districts for how many lives died in the war, a group
of people forms the Capitol and the Hunger Games. The Hunger Games is where the districts send two people,
one boy and one girl to the capitol to be put in an arena and fight to the death. This is the story of Katniss. When
she is thrown into the Hunger games and will she sur-vive?
****Harry Potter 1-7***
I personally give these books 500 stars, I love them. If you like suspense you will adore book 3-7. I would recommend reading
them in order because if you read them in order they’re much better. The books are much bet-
ter than the movie.

Hi everyone! I’m Hannah . As you know we have many new teachers this year. I chose an art teacher. Her
name is Mrs. Glover. A few days ago I went over to Mrs. Glover’s portable and asked her a series of questions about
her. Here’s the data that I received……………
Questions Answers
How long have you been teaching art? 3 years
Who is your favorite artist? Vincent Van Gogh
What made you want to be an art teacher? To help students learn about
the world of art.
What collage did you go to? University of Texas ( UT)
When did you first get interested in art? 10th grade ( high school)

“BY KIDS, FOR KIDS!”
Have you ever tried to see how an acorn would taste? Well if you go home and you try to eat
one you’re not smart. But I have a great way to make one that’s edible. These are the things
you need:
Nutter butters
Hershey kisses
Peanut butter kisses
Chocolate for melting
First you need to melt the chocolate. While it’s melting you need to take all the peanut butter
out of the middle of the nutter butters. Then take all the wrappers off of the Hershey kisses. The
chocolate will probably be done melting by then. Then you need to take one of the tops of the
nutter butters and put some melted chocolate and rub it on the nutter butter. Then put it on the
Hershey and press it a little bit but not too hard where it breaks. Then let them dry for a little bit.
When you’ve done that with all of them you can start putting on the peanut butter kisses. To put
them on you get some more melted chocolate and put a tiny dot of it on the top. Then you take
one and put it on the melted chocolate. After that do that on all of them. Then let the chocolate
dry. After the chocolate on all of them is dry you can try one. Just make sure you are ready to be
in paradise!!!
Guess what?
The play is coming,
the play is coming!
The school play has
finally arrived. Out-
standing actors will
be performing on

Many people will be
coming. I hope the
actors will be pre-
pared because they
will be in the spot-
light the whole time.
This program is
called “Paint The

Have you ever been overwhelmed by to much homework? Well so have I! And me
and my mom have come up with a few solutions!
1. Make a schedule to tell you what to do and when to do it so you wont have to
do it all at once
2. Start early so you will have time to make it look good, meet the require-
ments, and you will have time to do your personal best
3. Give yourself a time limit so you wont over work yourself, make it short about
30min so you can still play with friends
4. If you need more time ask your teacher to expand your deadline a few days
5. Be creative, positive, and hard worker!
THEME: friendship problems
Question1: I have a friend who plays around someone who bullies me. I want to be around them but I don’t want to be
bullied. I NEED help.
Answer: I know how you feel. What you should do is tell your friend that you don’t really
prefer to be around that certain person. Or you should just give that person another chance
and try to be nice. Queston2: My friend and I just got into a huge fight and there is no way to get out but apologize. The only thing is my
friend won’t listen to me. Please save our friendship.
Answer: That is a very challenging situation. What you should do is put a note on her desk or
table saying you’re sorry If she doesn’t respond in 4 days then go up to her/him and say that
you need to have a serious chat and tell them how you feel.

Restaurant Review

Chuys
Dear readers the one restaurant that I think you should vist is Chuys. Chuys is a very
popular place. The whole idea of Chuys is fun, cool, and wacky. Chuys is a Mexican
restaurant. Chuys has fun stuff all around like, fake fish on the celling, pots and pans
on roof, pictures of dogs all around, and crazy cool colorful chairs. If you do vist Chuys
try the chica chica boom boom. It’s a spicy coalition of meat and tortilla and kazoo.
Also the Crispy bean and cheese tacos. Taco shell with bean and cheese in it. Another
thing you shoud try is the bean and cheese quesadillas. A soft tortilla stuffed with
bean and cheese.
Hope you try it!!!

The Washington Nation-
als are a baseball team.
Have you seen them play?
The Washington Nation-
als are a good team. I’m
rooting for the National if
they go to the World Se-
ries I hope they do but
this year they tried but
they did not make it sadly.
On the bright side they
did well they made it far
in the season at least.
The earth is losing
oil every day; we
need to speak up to
the people. They
are taking oil. Then
one day, we will
run out. So we need
to speak to the
world and tell the
news people and
the word.

Frankeenweenie is about a boy named Victor and his best
friend which is his dog. Sparky dies while getting a ball in
the street and an oncoming car hits him. Out of love for
Sparky, victor puts his science talents to the test, and tries
to bring sparky back from the dead. Victor is most sur-
prised when it works!!! I don’t want to give the whole
story away, but let me just say that after that, it gets a little
messy. I give this movie three out of five stars. It wasn’t
the best movie, but it was worth the price of admission. I
recommend this movie to anyone who likes Halloween, or
Tim Burton [the director.] I will admit that it is a little bit
scary, and recommend it for ages nine and up.
National Novel Writing Month
Sharpen your pencils; it is National Novel Writing
Month! Down in the portables the E.L.A T.A.G stu-
dents start the process of writing their novels! “We
started them today, but this is not going to be done
this November! We started out by really getting to
know our main character. You really need to know
about them to be able to write about them.” Says an
inside source. Even you can write a novel. Start with
your main character and then get to know the rest of
the characters! Let’s celebrate this month and start
writing! By: Peyton

Houston Texans
By Bryson
Have you seen the Houston
Texans play? Well, if you had,
you would think they were awesome! The TEXANS work
so hard to make it to practice and games.
Remember: practice makes perfect! The coaches work
too scheduling games and making the players the best
they can be. The players work hard to perfect all their
plays. The center works to get the ball to the quarterback
at the right time. The QB needs to make sure the handoff
is good and the passes are thrown well to an open player.
They can’t get hurt like Peyton Manning hurting his knee
in the middle of the season. My point is that all the players
have to work really hard! The TEXANS rule!
Field Day News! By Jack and Matthew
Jack: Students were pleased with having fun at field day! I especially liked the disc
golf and tug of war! I was not as impressed with the kayaking because my class did not
get to use paddles and instead used our feet. It was still fun even though we did not use
the paddles as planned. Classes were screaming down the hallways and eardrums were
ringing. At the end of the day students like myself were tired. We all thought about our
favorite station. Mine was tug of war because my class crushed our switch teacher’s
class! Matthew: My favorite activity was tug of war because my class got to go against Mrs. Vargas’ class. When we went against her class, we beat them. When it was boys and boys, Mrs. Leal’s boys beat Vargas’ boys. The only time we lost is when it was the girls. You don’t always have to win, but when other classes went they did well.
