when attending mass or other church services. Dresses, skirts and shorts should be near the knee. Off the

shoulder or low cut dresses or blouses, tank tops, muscle shirts and tight fitting clothes are a sign of disrespect to the church.

En el evangelio de hoy Jesús e dirige a Jerusalén, y mucha gente viaja con El. Aparte de sus discípulos, la multitud de gente quizás habían aquellos que tenían curiosidad, enfermos que buscaban sana miento, y los opuestos que lo oían con esperanzas de acusarlo. Fíjense que esa gente no necesariamente lo seguían sino, nomas iban viajando, viendo haber que iba a hacer Jesús en seguida. Jesús sabía que los motivos de la gente estaban confundidos. Así que se detuvo y les dirigió estas palabras de desafío: ¡Odien a sus Padres! ¡Odien a su vida! ¿Y carguen su cruz? Esas palabras parecen ser poco duras.

Jesús sabia que cada uno de ellos tenía alguna excusa. Quizás algunos no querían dejar la seguridad de la casa de sus papas. El seguidor ha de poner toda su atención en el Mesías, y no en la familia, y ni siquiera en sí mismo. U otros tenían apuros de que fueran desterrados s seguía a Jesús. Quizás otro tenía ansias de empezar el viaje con Jesús pero que quizás no podría seguirlo cuando las cosas se pusieran duras. U otro nomas lo seguía por curiosidad.

Jesús se detuvo y hablo con ese gentío porque quería conmoverlos un poco u que se olvidaran de cualquier obstáculo que los detenía de seguirlo. Jesús quería que vieran que ser un discípulo era una decisión seria. Tenían que decidir ellos mismos si valía la pena seguirlo. Cristo es el valor absoluto y único en la vida discipular. No admite competidores.

Cada uno de nosotros somos como la gente que viajaban con Jesús. Las palabras de Jesús se dirigen a toda la comunidad de bautizados, a la iglesia entera. No hay que entenderlas como si fueran dirigidas a los clérigos o a las religiosas solamente. Todos tenemos áreas en nuestras vidas, quizás relacionadas con un pecado o un rencor o falta de confianza, que no parece que podamos liberar, pero Jesús nos está llamando a nosotros poquito más allá de ser sus discípulos. Un discípulo escoge a Jesús en vez de relaciones humanas, la posesión de cosas materiales, o posesión de honor o poder. Así es que sierra tus ojos y imagínate que El te está llamando a ti. ¿Qué es lo que dice?

¿Al oír las escrituras en la Misa hoy, te fijaste si alguna cosa te conmovió? ¿Qué Jesús te está llamando que te arrimes más? ¿Qué te está fijando la luz en algo que te está retirando de El? Si así es, toma ese conocimiento profundo contigo cuando recibas la comunión, y dile a Dios que te lo ponga en tu corazón.

“Jesús, quiero seguirte con más profundidad!”

If your not new to Socorro and are not sure if you are registered, please come in or call the office. Perhaps your family has grown or

your children have moved away, records need to be updated. Children ages 18 and over should register as adults.

In order to allow Fr. John time to prepare for the 5:00 p.m. Mass, Father will only hear Confessions until

are open Monday through Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.

The Drive in Gates Are open on Saturday & Sunday

roadside or next to other graves. A large dumpster is available or there are some trash bins in a few areas.
