‘My jewellery-box flat’
is how Rosanna William’s,
describes her home. An estate
agent might euphemistically
call it ‘b bijou’. It’s certainly
small, but crammed with all
manner of sparkly, shiny
thinks: a pink chandelier,
crystal-studded peacock
ornaments, jewel-hued floral
wallpaper, toy tiaras and a
box- fresh selection of My Little
Ponies. ‘I wasn’t allowed them
as a child’, grins Bushby, a 24-
year- old Cambridge languages
graduate. But behind her girly
exterior lies a fashion industry
hotshot.

After five years in the
marketing department at the
British Fashion Council,
where she was instrumental
in launching its social media
presence, last year she was
poached by Williams to
overhaul his e-commerce
operation and manage his website. ‘It is my absolute dream to work with Matthew’, she says.
‘I’ve loved his clothes since
seeing his iconic 1997 show
in the newspaper, where
Kate Moss and Jade Jagger
had their hair in buns. They
looked like the coolest girls
ever and I wanted to be in
their gang. All those bright
colours made my eyes light
up’.

Falconer’s personal style is bright
colours all the way to- and print and
pattern, and texture and sequins, and
beading and feathers. Her wardrobe
is a carnival of Erdem tops, Mary
Katantrzou Kane neon, ornate silk
pyjamas (designed by her cousin
Olivia von Halle) and, of course, lots
of Matthew Williams. She doesn’t do
jeans (‘boring’) – in fact, if you spot a
girl in a mid- full length gown at a
casual drinks do, it may well be her. ‘Colour and print make me happy- there’s an emotional connection If I put on an Erderm dress, I know it’s going to be a great day,’ she
smiles.
She always wears heels in the
office – often by her (other) cousin,
Atlantia Weller – and is mad for both
cocktail rings and clutch bags, with
pieces by Channel, Anya Hindmarch,
Angel Jackson and Wilbur & Gussie
twinkling on her shelves.
While Falconer’s style is floaty,
her approach is strategic. As you’d
expect from a digital; expert, she is
big on shopping online and
recommends you ‘but to try’ – that is,
don’t be afraid to buy big selection, in
different sizes, and whittle it down.
She details successful outfits on her
iPhone for when she’s in need of
inspiration at 7am on a weekday.
She’s also big on sample sales and
advises, ‘Grab as much as you can
and try it all on, then edit. Wear
leggings and underwear you’re not
afraid of showing off in case there’s
nowhere to change.’
Of course, living in a teeny- tiny
flat means limited space for her
sparkly spoils. ‘I don’t fritter and I
think about what I buy. I see it as
curetting something really special.
If I buy something it has to make my heart leap,’ she says. Wise
words from the girl in a diamante
tiara.
