Offshore Oil Booms All Offshore oil spill containment booms manufactured by Norlense AS are self inflating booms with automatic inflation. The offshore booms are stored on reels and can be deployed by one person, which increase crew safety. The boom inflates automatically and up to 400 meters can be deployed in 10 - 20 minutes. Due to it’s modest space and crew requirements during deployment, operation and hauling, the boom is ideal for permanent storage and use on board most kinds of vessels. Thus, it is an excellent choice for field duty, since very little deck space is necessary in order to deploy the boom into the sea. Rapid mobilization is thus possible even when the vessel carries cargo on deck. For this concept strong materials have been selected to ensure durability and suitability for long-term operations.
