Oh, it’s you……

Chapter 1

I walked in the forest outside my house, passing the time away. It’s been onemonth since the Cullen’s have left and I’m miserable. I don’t even look like myself. I

look like a zombie.

There was the bubbling of a brook a few feet ahead of me. I stopped and bent onone knee right next to the water’s edge. My hands reached out to clean the dirt off them,

 but a picture in the water brought me up short.

Staring back at me, with crimson eyes were Laurent and Victoria, each with a

sinister smile on their face. I gasped and whirled around. They were two yards away fromme, leaning on the trunk of an evergreen tree.

“Bella, so nice to see you,” Victoria said in her soprano voice.

“Laurent, Victoria,” I nodded.

“Where are your little protectors, the Cullen’s?” She asked.“Umm…uh…they’re-”

“In Alaska,” Laurent interrupted me and his eyes flickered over to mine. “I sawthem while living with the Denali Coven.”

“So they left you?” Victoria inferred and grinned at me.

I didn’t answer.

“And left you all alone, unprotected.” She made eye contact with Laurent andthen attracted her gaze back to me.

“Why are you here?” I asked, finding my voice.

“Well, I never got over the fact that your precious Edward killed my James. Idecided if my mate is dead, why can’t Edward’s be too?” She smiled, showing her razor 

sharp teeth.My breathing started to get shallow.“So my plan was to kill you right in front of the Cullen’s, to let Edward lose his

 poor little, defenseless mate.” Victoria moved closer to me.

“Killing me would actually be the best for me. So I don’t have to live with the factthat Edward doesn’t love me anymore.” I laughed bitterly.

“Let me get this straight. You’re in so much pain you’d rather die?” Victoria

asked and raised an eye brow.

“Hmm, then maybe turning you into a vampire will make you suffer more.”Victoria mused.

She made up her mind and perked up happily.

“Laurent, knock her out,” Victoria ordered and all of a sudden I was surroundedin black.

I awoke to the sound of voices. When I could open my eyes I saw all of the

Cullen’s standing four yards away.“Bella!” They gasped.

I gave them a half smile and stared bleary eyed at the family I loved.

“Aren’t you going to say hello?” Laurent’s voice whispered to me and I looked

up.

Laurent was holding me, his eyes still wild and crimson. I looked back towards

the Cullen’s and stared directly at Edward.

He looked so weak and defenseless. I could tell from his eyes that he wanted totry and help me, but he can’t. If he tried to grab me, Victoria or Laurent would probably

kill me.

“Bella,” He spoke brokenly.“Yes, your little human here. It was very fortunate that we found her walking in

the woods, alone…..” Victoria laughed mirthlessly.

“Laurent and I came up with an idea. The original plan was to kill her right infront of your eyes. But since our little friend here explained that she was in so much pain

she’d rather die….” Victoria paused for dramatic effect.

“We’ve decided to change her instead, so that she’ll live with her terrible

memories forever.” Victoria concluded.Everything was eerily quiet.

“Any last words to tell the girl before she endures three days of indescribable

 pain?” Victoria said as her mouth neared the pulse point in my neck.

I closed my eyes.“I love you Bella,” Edward’s voice ghosted in my ears.

“You too,” I said hoarsely as burning pain shot in my neck.
