CLUB NEWS, EVENTS & INFORMATION

Welcome summer! We have had enough rain and stormy weather these last

few months to last us for a long while.

Thank you Jenn Renz and Katie Papp for putting together a great Easter Egg Hunt

for our members’ children and grandchildren. Everyone enjoyed looking for the

hidden eggs and participating in the various activities.

A special Thank you to Pete Lindauer for all the time he has spent in our picnic

grove to get both the grounds and kitchens ready for the spring and summer

season. Our soccer fields and CIS’s Grove are in beautiful condition.

We had fabulous weather for our 3rd Annual Bierfest. Again, a big Thank You to

Don Warner and his Bierfest Committee for putting together this event. Thank

you to all the volunteers – Board members, club members and soccer parents.

Their dedication is so very much appreciated because we would not be able to

put together these hugh events without them.

I hope you all enjoy your summer with your family and friends. Remember our

CIS’s Grove (Bier Garten) is open on Friday nights. Come out and have a drink and

enjoy some of Lenny Wenzler’s food specials.

Ich wüschen euch allen einen guten Sommer!

Congratulations to the GAK United U-17 Boys for winning

the NJ State Youth Soccer Commissioner's Cup!

The GAK completed it's Spring season in June and continued it's active program right into July with the kick off of it's first ever German ID Soccer Camps run by Schaechter Sports GmbH of Germany. Trainers David Mueller and Marcus Becker provided two weeks of excellent training to our 54 campers which camp out in the extreme heat to get a taste of Bundesliga level training. At least one player from the older group in week two is being asked to come and train in Germany for a possible tryout with a German club.

The GAK has formed a partnership with Italian Sportswear Company Macron to outfit all GAK teams in the same uniforms beginning this year. We have signed a three year contract which will take us through the 2022 season.

The GAK will be fielding no less than ten teams this year competing in MOSA and in EDP league and regional tournament play.
