Official Newsletter of The Arizona American Italian Club JANUARY 2016
Fellow AAIC Members,
Well, 2016 is upon us. I would like to express my sincere honor and pride in representing the Arizona American
Italian Club as its 2016 President. It is very important that everyone knows that this club means a lot to me and I
promise the membership I will work diligently in continuing the tradition of our heritage and forefathers. I and the
entire 2016 Board are looking forward to another exciting, fun-packed year at our “treehouse”. I know that with
your help, and the support of the all board members, this year will once again be an enjoyable, fruitful one for the
club. Sure, I expect the challenges and disagreements to pop up, but that’s what happens in a family and we are a
family. We settle our differences with mutual respect and keep the vision of the club alive.
Under the guidance of Joie LoCurto, and the help of Max and hardworking kitchen staff, we look forward to some
exciting new changes that we hope the members appreciates and enjoy. A special 2-hour Board meeting will be
held on Monday, January 18th at 6 p.m. to plan the events for the entire year. The General meeting will be held on
Tuesday, the 19th at 6 p.m. All members, regular and affiliates are encouraged to attend. Please come and support
your club at the special events. Watch your newsletter for upcoming changes and events.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank Jim Parisella, our 2015 president for his repeated dedicated service
to this club and I only hope that I can fill his shoes as this year’s president. Special thanks go out to Gene
Gazzola, Michelle Martin, Eva Lucarelli and John D’Avanzo for their service on last year’s Board and I wish
them well as exiting board members. Also, I have asked John Ficarra to assume my role in booking the
entertainment for Friday nights. I am confident that John will bring new fresh music to the club to satisfy all ages.
Please understand that all of us volunteer our time to this club for two reasons, we love the AAIC and we want it
to continue for another 59 years! Help us run this club, as it has throughout its history, been based upon the help
of the volunteer members.
Respectfully,
Jay Fuller-President - [email protected]
