She was so concerned that she wanted to give him her own. Her mother told her that wasn’t possible, they wouldn’t fit him. So Amber and her mother went to the store and bought not 1 but 100 pairs of socks for the homeless in that mission. Amber herself, the next day, was able to give the man the socks. With a simile, he thanked her. Maybe it isn’t socks. Maybe it’s food or kindness or just a listening ear. Maybe it’s the gift of time or forgiveness. Light has many forms and many ways to cut into the darkness of lack, failure and depression. There is the power of light! Light cannot help but win. THE EVERYTHING UNDERSTANDING ISLAM Book is the title of a book which has a subtitle that summarizes the contents of the entire book: A COMPLETE AND EASY-TO-READ GUIDE TO MUSLIM BELIEFS, PRACTICES, TRADITIONS, AND CULTURE. The Author is Christine Huda Dodge, a Muslim who writes books and articles about Islam and is active in her mosque in Corvalis, Oregon. She explains what Islam is, their six articles of faith, their perception of Jesus, their manners, morals, laws and many other topics. Her illustrations make the book interesting to read. Dear State Street Methodist Church, This letter is to everyone who was so kind to my grandmother Lucy Magruder during her 100th birthday celebration. I want to thank the kind couple who visit Mamau every week and bring her a bulletin from the church. I want to thank all the ladies who so generously prepared the fabulous food for Mamau’s celebration party. I want to thank everyone who took the time to send a birthday card to Mamau. As of Saturday May 8th she has received 142 cards and birthday notes of congratulations from President and Mrs. Obama, Governor Brasher, Senator Mike Reynolds, State Representative Brett Guthrie, State Representative Jim DeCesare and Judge Executive Mike Buchanon. My grandmother has always been a very proud member of State Street Methodist Church and I sincerely want to thank all who came to wish her happy birthday during her party at the Village Manor Facility. If you have been able to see Mamau lately you know that she is still very cognitive and so enjoyed seeing all the bright faces wish-ing her a happy birthday. Lastly, I want to thank so much Mrs. Betty Bostick for contacting me during the planning of Mamzu’s party and volunteering to head the organization of food preparation and delivery to the party site. But mostly for arriving early to help set up and staying the entire time to greet people and to help clean up at the very end. Betty, I couldn’t have done the party without you!! Again, my sincere and heartfelt thanks to everyone at State Street Methodist Church. Dottie Holland, Lucy Magruder’s granddaughter

Acts 2: 1-4 NLT

On the day of Pentecost all the believers were meeting together in one place. Suddenly, there was a sound from heaven like the roaring of a mighty windstorm, and it filled the house where they were sitting. Then, what looked like flames or tongues of fire appeared and settled on each of them. And everyone present was filled with the Holy Spirit and began speaking in other languages, as the Holy Spirit gave them this ability.
