Heroes? When I hear that word my mind automatically jumps back to all of those fictional characters most of enjoyed growing up watching on tv... Spider-Man, Superman, Batman & Robin, the Lone Ranger... Many people loved the fact that these heroes did what seemed to be insurmountable. They gave hope and inspiration to everyday people who faced great danger. But if the truth were to be told they were all made up figments of someone's imagination that did not represent real life. There I said it... fake, phony, made up, and imaginary. So where do we look then to find people of inspiration? Well the Bible spells out for us many people who did some incredible feats; people like David, Joshua, Paul, Isaiah, Abraham, and Elijah just to mention a few... But what about Ehud, Barak, Rizpah, Jephthah, and Phineas who weren't so superhero in demonstration but did some incredible things for the sake of the Kingdom. They were ordinary heroes who obeyed God and did simple but yet impacting things for Him. God isn't asking us to jump from tall buildings or spin webs to capture creatures or ride a white horse... But He is asking us to be obedient to what He asks us to do. It may not make the headlines in the Petrolia Topic... But it will appease the heart of God and just might change someone's life! To everyone else it may seem ordinary, but to God we are Heroes! - Rev Darryl Price
