One Bread, One Body 2020 Annual Catholic Appeal WE ARE MISSIONARIES OF LOVE AND HOPE MAY 30 - JULY 19, 2020: ANNUAL CATHOLIC APPEAL Our Seminarians The Archdiocese of Anchorage currently supports two seminarians, Ed Burke and Madison Hayes. We pray that all young people respond generously to God's call! In his recent exhortation, Christus Vivit, Pope Francis challenges all Catholics to be alive and present, witnesses to the world around us through our actions. "The best way to prepare a bright future is to experience the present as best we can, with commitment and generosity," said Pope Francis. All Catholics are called to be a light to the world, sharing the Good News of God’s mercy with those in and beyond our parish communities. In the Archdiocese of Anchorage, we respond to this call through a variety of ministries, and we remain active in our local communities despite recent struggles. This week, take some time to review our brochure, learn about how we serve, and prayerfully consider how you will support our universal mission and respond to Christ's call to selfless generosity. “Lord, help us to live the virtue of generosity, to love without limits.” -Pope Francis 6 Diaconate Candidates We have 6 men in our training program to become deacons. We pray for these six candidates and their families as they continue their journey of service to the Church. 2,000+ Youth Over 2,000 children and teens were enrolled in Faith Formation classes last year. We pray for our young people and those who teach them, that they may encounter Christ. 22 Parishes Did you know that 22 of our parishes are in rural or remote areas? We pray in thanksgiving for the priests, religious, and laypeople who serve each parish in our Archdiocese. Empowering Diversity Through the Archdicoese of Anchorage, we provide ministry to mulptiple ethnic and cultural communities, especially Alaska Native Ministry and Hispanic Ministry. We pray for those who provide ethnic ministries, that those who hear the Good News respond with faith. Give early: archdioceseofanchorage.org/donate
