OERREPOSITORIES

Open Course LibraryThe Open Course Library (OCL) is a collection of shareable course materials, including syllabi, course activities, readings, and assessments designed by teams of college faculty, instructional designers, librarians, and other experts. Some of our materials (also called open educational resources, or OER) are paired with low cost textbooks ($30 or less). Many of the courses can be taught at no cost to students. Unless otherwise noted, all materials are shared under a Creative Commons (CC BY) license.OCL courses and materials have undergone testing for accessibility and have been designed using the industry-standard Quality Matters (QM) rubric for assessing the quality of online courses.

Goals:

1.Lower textbook costs for students

2.Provide high quality, open resources for faculty

Are there any costs?

Some courses currently require the purchase of a low-cost

textbook. If an OCL course requires the purchase of a

textbook or other resource, the cost may not exceed $30 per

student. All other materials are free and there is no cost to

adopt the course

NEEDS (National Engineering Education Delivery System)

NEEDS — The National Engineering Education Delivery System is a digital library of learning resources for engineering education. NEEDS provides web-based access to a database of learning resources where the user (whether they be learners or instructors) can search for, locate, download, and comment on resources to aid their learning or teaching process. In addition NEEDS supports a multi-tier evaluation system from our national award competition with sponsors from industry to user-based reviews of individual learning resources.

Textbook Revolution

Textbook Revolution is a student-run site dedicated to increasing the use of free educational materials by teachers and professors. We want to get these materials into classrooms. On this site you'll find links and reviews of textbooks and select educational resources. Some of the books are PDF files, others are viewable online as e-books, or some are simply web sites containing course or multimedia content.

Math World

MathWorldTM is the web's most extensive mathematical resource, provided as a free service to the world's mathematics and internet communities as part of a commitment to education and educational outreach by Wolfram Research, makers of Mathematica.

• MathWorld currently features a number of innovative interactive elements that enhance its usability for a variety of different readers. These features include:

• The MathWorld Classroom, which provides a set of pop-up "capsule summaries" for more than 300 mathematical terms.

• Extensive citations to books and journal articles, many of which are active hyperlinks.

• Thousands of downloadable Mathematica notebooks.• Several types of interactive entries, including LiveGraphics3D applets

for interactive three-dimensional geometry.• A powerful full-text search engine with both basic and advanced

searching capabilities.• Dublin Core and Mathematics Subject Classification metadata in the

HTML headers of each page.• Special information for Mathematica users.

NSDL (National Science Digital Library)

The National Science Digital Library provides high quality online educational resources for teaching and learning, with current emphasis on the sciences, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) disciplines—both formal and informal, institutional and individual, in local, state, national, and international educational settings.

Most resources in the library adhere to principles of Open Educational Resource (OER) access, although some resources are restricted to provider site membership, or may have a cost associated with them (indicated in the full record of the resource).

STEM Sheets

A growing collection of STEM learning materials that can be customized by the user using the unique website interface. Materials are designed to be downloaded in the Portable Document Format and printed. Resources include science and mathematics worksheets, flashcards, and diagrams.

Free SheetMusic

Distribution of more than 360,000 free sheets of music.

They are in different formats: PDF, GIF, JPEG, etc. There

are thousands of pieces. If you want to add a sheet that it

is not in there you have to go to "Submit your Site". The

sheets are organized by genre, instrument or compositor.

They also provide links to other sites with free sheets.

You Tube

Free online video streaming service that allows users to view and share videos that have been uploaded by our members. Users can add videos, comments and tags if they have an account created. It is also a distributed classification system.

Thank you for you attention
