GET INVOLVED
5 NEW YEAR'S RESOLUTIONS THAT WILL CHANGE YOUR LIFE...AND THE LIVES OF OTHERS
1. Volunteer
The benefits of volunteering for your health and happiness have
been proven time and again - so why not start the new year by
making a difference to yours and others' wellbeing? We have
many fun opportunities to suit all interests and time-commitments,
and offer plenty of support. Find out more
Do the London Marathon
Missed out on the marathon ballot? We have one charity place in
the 2016 London marathon for a lucky runner -

3. Detox
Save yourself the money and the hangovers, and give up alcohol
for January. Doing it for charity is a great way to ensure you stick
to your goal - so set up a Justgiving page for Restore, and ask
friends to sponsor you for the challenge.
(Fundraising tip - put an empty pint glass on your desk, and ask
colleagues to fill it up with loose change!)
4. Be a RAKtivist (Random Acts of Kindness)
Research has proven that doing kind things for others increases
happiness and reduces stress.
Get your dose of that "warm fuzzy feeling" by doing Acts of
Kindness throughout the year. Here are some ideas....
- Buy a Restore raffle ticket for a friend
(reply to this email to be sent tickets in the post)
- Give someone you love a special, ethical gift from one of our shops across Oxfordshire
- The smallest things can make the biggest difference - send a text, make a cup of tea, ask
someone how they are (check out the #smallthings)
- Take a look at our Justgiving page, and send a message of encouragement by
sponsoring one of our supporters.
- Make a donation to Restore
Get inspired: Take a look at what Lee and Amelie got up to when they did 39 acts of
kindness for their birthday! (we especially like number 35 ;) )
5. Eat healthily
Loose the pounds or loose the pounds! Introduce a cake tax at home and in the office - every time you eat a sugary snack, put a donation into a Restore collection tin - a great incentive to stay healthy and to relieve the guilt if you fail!
Reply to this email for a Restore collection tin.
EVENTS
After a jam-packed year of events, we are taking a short
break.Stay tuned for more exciting events to come in 2016.

THANK YOU
Thank you to all the wonderful people and community
groups who have made such generous donations this
Christmas period. You have given the gift of hope and
recovery to so many this holiday season, and we
couldn't be more grateful.
Fighting StigmaA huge thanks to AndrewGary who raised over £2000 for Restore this month through their charity boxing match. Andrew has been on
local tv and BBC radio to publicise the match and talk about mental health, doing an amazing job at raising awareness of mental health problems and challenging stigma. Watch his interview with That's TV here.
Hark the herald angels sing...We've been overwhelmed by
the support of the community
this Christmas, who have been getting musical for
mental health. A huge thanks to:
- University choirs, The Ultrasounds and Aneurhythms
who held an acapella concert two weeks ago
- Oxford Spires Rotary Club who went caroling through
Woodstock on Friday
- Jan Buhagiar and his brass band who held a concert
for Restore in Goring last weekend
- The village of Iffley who will be carolling and country
dancing at the village hall for Restore tonight (go along
if you can!)
- Everyone involved in our recovery groups' winter
events - there was live music, stalls lots of festive fun
at them all!
Christmas CollectionsA big big thank you to our fabulous volunteers who helped at our stalls at Oxford Business Park and Westgate Centre last week, and to the wonderful people at Genzyme and Sainsbury's who hosted us!
Shaving livesThanks so much to Carl Duringer, who grew this glorious 'tasche
for "Movember" to raise money for Restore. We were quite sad to
see it go in the end...! Sponsor Carl here(Thanks should also go his wife for putting up with the facial
