After non-melanoma skin cancer, breast cancer is the most common cancer in

women

In 2009 in the US: 211,731 women were diagnosed with breast

cancer and 40,676 women died from breast cancer

There were .9% less incidences of and 2.1% less deaths from breast

cancer per year.

CDC's National Breast and Cervical Cancer Early Detection Program (provides breast screenings and

diagnostic services, like mammograms to low-income, uninsured, and

underinsured women in the US.

Women between 50 and 74 years old should get mammograms

every two years.

Those under 50 should talk with their provider about when they should be screened.
