M y mom is the one with the green thumb. In her garden there’s always something blooming, hardly any weeds. It is a haven for birds, bees and butterflies. I have to admit I’m a fair weather gardener. I do enjoy digging in the spring soil under those first warm days of April. I also love draw- ing all things garden and flower related. The inspiration is endless- seed packs, garden quotes, and flowers, flowers, flowers! I’m always keeping my eyes open for vintage script, especially old school samples full of squiggles and designs. To replicate that feel I use pen and ink. My “normal” handwriting looks juvenile but using the pen and ink is more like drawing the words and, taking my time, I have much better penmanship! – Kathy OCTOBER
