ISSUE # 2013 October Formers’ newsletter A MONTHLY NEWSLETTER KEEPING YOU INFORMED, UP-TO- DATE, AND CONNECTED WITH THE CENTURY SINGERS Fall Retreat This past month was a busy one for the Century Singers! On Friday, October 18th, we had our Fall Retreat at Messiah’s Ranch! This year, the officers planned an Avengers themed retreat and all of them did a fantastic job at the Big Game on finding the Tesseract, which was hidden by the evil Loki (Mr. Posada!) Thank you to all the officers, especially our Pollard Representative Hannah Himes, for putting hard work into this eventful night for everyone and making this an awesome first Retreat for the Pollards! We had some Former Century Singers come out and help with the food and setting up at Retreat. I would personally like to make a shout-out to Mark Pape, Will Hailey, James Ngu- yen, and Kevin Tarlow for spending time with us there! It was incredible getting to know them, listening about their insights and sharing stories about Century Singers. I hope to get to meet many more of you because you all have made and con- tributed to this choir into what it is now. Also, a BIG thank you to our few generous donors for the lovely Rudy’s Barbeque. You have no idea how much it meant to us so I would like to say THANK YOU on behalf of all the Century Singers. One day, I hope to give back to this choir for all that it has provided for me. SHOWCASE 2013

A week after our retreat, on Friday Octo-ber 25th, the Century Singers held their annual Showcase at United Methodist Church and it was a huge success! We were completely sold out and had a differ-ent and unique vibe to our music this year. At this “Great Gatsby” Showcase, we performed songs from Bruno Mars, Pitch Perfect, and The Lumineers! Those of you who were able to attend, I hope you enjoyed the show and the depth of individual talent this choir holds. Mr. Posada, Ben Sieben (our accompa-

nist), all the officers, and the Showcase Chair-Heads put in a tremendous amount of work into this production and it was extremely successful. A HUGE thank you to our Performance Manager, Morgen Burchell, for dedicating hours into this show and making it as perfect as possi-ble. Their hard work definitely shined through!
