Innovation Athletics 2013

Monday

• We went to Randall’s Island and played a 45 minute game of steal the bacon. The game consist of tons of running. The game is played where there is two teams evenly and each team player receives a number. When that number is called both people from the teams that have the same number run out and gets the ball back safe to there team.

• Additionally we walked the pier to Jefferson Park where we played a game of Man Hunt. The group was divided to two teams as well and one group received flags. The group with out flags had to try and capture the flags. If you were caught you had to help capture flags as well.

• Students created these games and taught their classmates

Tuesdays

The Ladies went to Lucille Roberts where they worked out and participated in a Zumba class. Zumba was founded in 2001. Zumba combines Latin and International Music with a fun and effective workout system. We also worked out our total body. We used weights and the body bar to work our abs, legs and orm arms at the same time. Lucille Roberts is located on 125 street and Amsterdam Ave. Its just $1 to join so ladies sign up if your interested.

Tuesday afternoon

• We had some fun and went bowling. The ladies met up with the gentlemen at Lucky Strike. We was bowling for 2 hours, a lot of strikes and gutterballs. We ended with Joseph being the winner with a total score of 191. Ivor , Coach L and Ryan were close with low 100’s.

Wednesday

• A Guest from Lucille Roberts came to workout with the group. Estella (top right picture) had two classes one was Step up. Students worked out using the step board ( shown below). The last class which was Remix Levels students worked out using the body bar, yoga mats and the stability balls.

Thursday

We signed up for the Recreation Center on 54 street and First Ave. Some girls and boys went swimming hawing a wonderful time in the pool.

Thursday

While kids were swimming others worked out. At the end everybody played a game of Volleyball, which we encouraging others to hit and save the volleyball . Then some of us was playing a 3 on 3 basketball game

Friday

Friday we concluded out Enrichment Week by going to Harlem RBI. We played a game of softball and Team A won 18-16. Felix and Ivor hit a in the park homerun.
