Inside this Issue: Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ, “Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust consume and where thieves
break in and steal; but store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor
rust consumes and where thieves do not break in and steal. For where your treasure is,
there your heart will be also. Matthew 6:19-21
It’s been almost 7 months since the pandemic became a reality for us at our church. Dates for a hopeful re-opening (Easter, Pentecost, etc) have come and gone. And over-all we have been doing pretty good! Thank you. Our in-person worship is consistently about 30 people and everyone has been gracious in observing the guidelines. Our online worship is well above 100 and as the weeks go on (because not everyone watches on Sunday morning at 10:30, but tune in later), we find our average is above 300. That is amazing!
Our giving is well above our budget needs (see page 3) which lets us pay our bills, remain faithful to our Apportionments and last month the Church Council (recognizing the money we receive is God’s money, not ours) voted to give Neighbor Network $1,000 to help those in need in our area. We’ll continue to watch for ways we can support each other and needs in our community.
How blessed we are! Let us never forget to be a blessing to others in return.

Remember God said to Abraham in Genesis 12:2 “I will make of you a great nation, and I will bless you, and make your name great, so that you will be a blessing.” So too are we blessed to bless others! What a privilege and what a responsibility God has entrusted to us! Unfortunately, it is probable that things will never return exactly to the “normal” that was January and February. But take heart, God is with us in all things and as we navigate our “new normal” we will do it together and we will do it for the glory of God with hearts to love and serve others. Blessings & Love, Clare ____________________________________________________________ Update from the Board of Trustees: Your Board of Trustees have been hard at work fixing and upgrading several items both at the church and the parsonage. Current projects include the following: Repair of our elevator A repair and update of our organ in the Sanctuary The addition of a defibrillator in the hallway across from the Secretary’s
office New roof on the parsonage and a new dishwasher New sign for the church at the junction of Rt. 2 and Rt. 16 These much needed projects are funded by generous financial gifts from the Karen Mahone estate and in memory of Wes Riggs. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact Trustee Chairperson George Little at 304-684-2272.
Did you know that our weekly radio broadcast airs on Sunday
mornings at 9 AM on 93.9 FM. This is an outreach ministry the
church supports through its budget. Please share this information!

October is Mission Month!
At a recent meeting, the Finance Committee discussed how thankful they are that you are supporting the church so faithfully. We also discussed the various special offerings that have been missed because we have only been meeting in-person in a limited way. It was determined that October would be Missions Month where folks are invited to make a special offering (above and beyond your normal offering) to missions and it would be split between the special offerings that have been missed since March 15
th. Special offerings are listed on pages 23
& 24 of your 2020 information guide. Please note on your offering that it to be directed to Missions. If you would prefer your offering be directed to a specific mission, please note that as well. We will also be having Undie Sunday October 11
th, but you can bring in new underwear, socks, bras and undershirts anytime.
They are distributed to our conference mission projects. Your support of Mission Month is appreciated and especially helpful this year because while we have been able to keep up with our apportionments, many churches have not, and that shortfall directly affects our mission projects in WV. As you can guess, our mission projects are meeting extra needs because of the pandemic and need our help. Thank you again for your service to God through support of missions. It is appreciated. And because of that faithful giving, Church Council approved giving $1,000 to Neighbor Network to help those in need in our community. What a great way to serve God! Thank you!
