ALPAUGH BRANCH LIBRARY

• Spook-tacular movies and crafts.

• Kids did hanging bats, ghosts, roll treats, and day of the dead skeletons.

• We also had a Halloween Coloring Contest that we displayed at the Branch. The winner received the pumpkin.

• We also handed out prizes for the LEGO Club, which kids have really enjoyed participating in.

DINUBA BRANCH LIBRARY

• This month we had three first grade class visits. I gave them information on how to get library cards, children’s programs, computers, on line resources, board games, puzzles, and coloring books. I had three homeschooled fourth grade triplets read to the students.

• On Wednesday mornings preschoolers enjoyed story time, visiting with friends, crafts, they are pictured here with their Happy Fall door decorations. They also had fun decorating and eating Halloween cookies.

• This month the Halloween crafts were enjoyed by all. The kids made Fall wreaths, hanging bats, hanging ghosts, and toilet paper witches.

• We had a lot of children participate in the Halloween pumpkin coloring contest. Two winners took home pumpkins. All participants took home candy.

• The Friends of the Dinuba Library had a book contest for grades pre-school to high school. Every time students checked out books they put their name in the box. The winners of the books will have their pictures in the Dinuba Sentinel next month with the Dinuba Friends.

EARLIMART BRANCH LIBRARY

• Our toddlers are back!• More kids are coming

in.• We had a coloring

timed contest the one with the most votes won a pumpkin.

• Last Friday of the month kids played the Wii while having some Halloween snacks.

EXETER BRANCH LIBRARY

Exeter had a spooktacular October

• Friends Fall Festival Book Sale was very successful as they nearly doubled last

year’s earnings.

• The Exeter Chamber of Commerce held a ribbon cutting for our new Friends group.

• The Friends participated in the annual Chamber’s scarecrow contest with the

Harry Potter costume that was on display all October.

• Representatives from Marinello’s School of Beauty conducted a Halloween Make

up Demonstration.

• Our coloring contest was very successful as over twenty children participated.

IVANHOE BRANCH LIBRARY

• This month was a fun month with Halloween movies and crafts.

• We also had a visit from two first grade classes from Ivanhoe School this month.

• We watched the movies “Spooky Buddies”, “Out of the Vault”, and “Batman Monster Mayhem”.

• The crafts that we had fun with this month were Hanging Bats, Hanging Ghosts, Day of the Dead Masks, and everyone’s favorite the Treat Boxes.

• We played Wii every week and had a pumpkin contest. The winner of our pumpkin contest was Easton Goodman

OROSI BRANCH LIBRARY

Sidewalk chalk art,hanging ghosts, bats, decorating skulls for Day of the Dead were some of the fun activities in the library this month.

Preschool Storytime, Wednesday Matinees, Wii games, after school crafts, tutoring, the best place in town to do your homework…and much more is what your Orosi Branch is for!

STRATHMORE BRANCH LIBRARY

• Strathmore patrons enjoyed the “Harvest & Halloween “ season” this month. Children made ghosts, bats, candy holders, scarecrows and Calaveras masks.

• A special prize was awarded to the best designed Jack-O-Lantern .

• Halloween movies were featured on movie day.

• On Wednesday, October 28, children and adults enjoyed a “Halloween Harvest” OPEN HOUSE. We bobbed for apples, made crafts, pinned the wart on the witch, made eatable Cheetos skeletons, had our faces painted and had a wonderful time! Over 60 attended!

THREE RIVERS BRANCH

• October was a very busy month in Three Rivers with the Raven Festival which had events throughout town. The Library had two community raven programs Karen Armstutz a ranger from Yosemite National Park and Colleen Bathe a ranger from Sequoia National Park. We also had a Ravenland Lego Challenge and a Raven Watercolor day.

TIPTON BRANCH LIBRARY

• The month of October was full of spook-tacular activities.

• Kids enjoyed the activities we had at the branch.

• Kids did hanging bats, Ghosts, treat box, day of the dead mask.

• We had a coloring contest that the kids participated in. The winner received a pumpkin.

• Overall it was a great month the kids enjoyed this months activities.

VISALIA BRANCH LIBRARY

*Staff represented the Tulare County Library at two outreach events this month:Taste the Arts in downtown Visalia and Red Ribbon Week in London.*

Adult Programs *Adults learned how to get started on their own family history at the Beginning Genealogy program on

October 20th. *The Independent Film Series brought in a handful of viewers with The Lesson on October 27th. *Adults and families celebrated Día de los Muertos with paper crafts on October 30 th.

Teen Programs *The first monthly Board Game Night was held on October 15th, which drew in 12 participants. *Teens discussed Pitch Perfect and watched the movie at their Book Club on October 17th. Children’s Programs *Local author Jean Chaffee visited the library after-hours to read “True Zoo to You” stories to all ages on

October 17th. This event was sponsored and arranged by our Friends group. *Over 60 children and parents participated in Fall Fun Friday, an autumn-themed event that included face painting, crafts, movies, and activities, on October 23rd.

WOODLAKE BRANCH LIBRARY

October Activities• Week #1

New Lego Challenge: Who can build the tallest structure? I guess Angel Garcia can build the tallest structure! craft : Creepy Halloween bats.

• Week #2 The pumpkin coloring contest began and was won by Angel Macias. Craft: Hanging ghost• Week #3

• 171 students from FJ White School visits the library!
