I would like to share what God has done and is still doing in my life today, 16 years later. My name is Wayne Duesberry and after entering Teen Challenge and God delivering me from 22 years of a life full of sin and destruction because of my addictions , I graduated on May 31, 1999. After graduation, I went home for two weeks and then came back to work on staff. In 2005, God promoted me to Intake Coordinator and Head Counselor. I have been very honored and privileged to reach out to men who are in the same situation I was in for so many years. I have probably seen over 1500 men come through the program, get healed, and set free from the bondage of sin and addictions. On October 8, 2011, I was joined together in marriage with my beautiful wife, Teresa. This was something I had been praying about for 12 years. I will be married four years and God has just recently blessed us with a new home . I have a beautiful step-daughter, Tiffany, and a wonderful grandson, Cameron. My life is so full and I give all the honor and glory to my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. I thank God for using Greater Piedmont Teen Challenge to change my life and give me a hope for my future. I want to continue sharing this same hope with the men who come through this program. My name is Vernon. I am the maintenance supervisor at Greater Piedmont Teen Challenge. God has greatly blessed me to be able to serve Him here and also in my local church. Life was not always so good. Just three years ago I entered Teen Challenge as a student. At age 55, I finally surrendered my life to God and He saved me from a lifetime of addictions to alcohol and drugs . My family nearly gave up on me. One of my three sons became an addict. God revealed His love, grace, mercy and power through my son who graduated from Teen Challenge a year before I did. God does work in mysterious ways, and He never ceases to amaze me. God spoke to me shortly after starting work here and told me it’s not about me anymore; it is about the influence I can have on His lost children. With God it’s never too late to start over. Vernon Baker Wayne Duesberry My name is Michael Hale. I am the Program Coordinator at Teen Challenge. I came to this program in 2012 at the most desperate point in my life. I was overcome with depression and an addiction to alcohol. After entering the program, I began praying and turned my life over to God. He be- gan to restore things in my life that I thought I had lost forever. He has given me a hope and peace in my life that can only come from having a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. I am blessed to be able to share the love of the Lord with others every day. James 1:17 says “Every good and perfect gift comes from above”. I thank the Lord for all of the blessings in my life. Everything that I have I owe to Him. I wouldn’t be here if it were not for His grace and mercy. Praise be to God! Michael Hale

Director’s Corner…….. National Red Ribbon Week

Dr. Bob Harman

This month we are featuring three of our staff members, whose testimonies are on the front of the newsletter, who have graduated from Greater Piedmont Teen Challenge.

They have been living victorious lives for Christ since He came in and changed them.

Each of these three men do an excellent job here at Teen Challenge. They are called to

this ministry. They give of themselves every day. Whenever a job needs to be done they are always willing to go beyond the call of duty to make sure the need is met.

I am honored to be the director here at Greater Piedmont Teen Challenge. We have the

best Board of Directors anywhere. We have the best staff. We have the best supporters. Thank you for making all this possible. When you support Greater Piedmont Teen Chal-

lenge you are helping us provide the discipleship needed to see men’s lives changed by

the power of the Gospel through God’s love. You are such an important part of this min-istry.

If you live locally, please come and visit our Thrift Store. The Thrift Store is an integral

part of this ministry. It provides income for the ministry, it provides jobs to our

of alcoholism and addiction. This is a great time to have a Teen Challenge Representative come speak to your

staff, students, and youth.

Summer Event Updates…………...

Burlington Men Work Force…….

This team of men from Burlington Assembly of God Church spent a week at Teen Challenge

working on Dorm 2 renovations. They worked hard and accomplished much. We will soon

be ready to open our doors to ten more students because of the help of these men and the

generous gifts of so many who have helped with this project. Thank you to everyone who

has been part of this expansion, but most of all thank you to the Lord for His help and provi-

sion.

employees, and reasonable merchandise to our customers. When you donate or purchase items we all win. We get the financial help and you get a great deal or tax donation. It is a win/win. We want to see our store be a blessing to others

and to Teen Challenge. Karen Coble, our store manager, and her team do an excellent job of operating this part of our

ministry. Please keep us in mind for your future donations and purchases. It does make a huge difference.
