    Ramsey Lewis & Srgio Mendes October 10, 2015 | Saturday at 8:00 p.m. Rene and Henry Segerstrom Concert Hall. Tickets start at $49 www.scfta.org North American soul jazz and South American bossa nova come together in one landmark double bill of hit music. Ramsey Lewis and Srgio Mendes bring a half-century of jazz hits to Saturday night. Lewis celebrates the 50th anniversary of his groundbreaking, Grammy-winning album, The In Crowd, with cuts from that album and other classics! Mendes helped introduce bossa nova to America with Brazil '66 and timeless classics such as "Mas Que Nada" and "Fool on the Hill." A must-hear night of hits from across the hemisphere!     Salsa Dance Party on the Plaza October 11, 2015 | Sunday 4 6:30 p.m. Arts Plaza. FREE. www.scfta.org It will be a hot Salsa Sunday as the Centers DJ kicks up the heat and music spills over to the Arts Plaza for a free afternoon party. Salsa is America's own contribution to Latin dancing and blends influences from Cuban son, son montuno, cha cha cha and mambo, and then adds elements of swing dancing and Afro-Caribbean movement the sounds and the rhythms that will have the audience up and moving!     Orquestra Buena Vista Social Club Adis Tour October 11, 2015 | Sunday at 7 p.m. Rene and Henry Segerstrom Concert Hall.     Zoltn Mga: From Budapest with Love - LIVE IN CONCERT October 16, 2015 | Friday at 8:00 p.m. Rene and Henry Segerstrom Concert Hall. Tickets start at $29 www.scfta.org Zoltn Mga, Hungarys foremost violin virtuoso and PBS television star, brings his fiery Gypsy music to Segerstrom Center for the Arts, for one night only. Joining Mga, direct from Budapest, will be beautifully-costumed folk dancers, a cast of hand-picked singers, ballroom dancers and his orchestra. Tickets start at $45 (Please note single tickets go on sale in August). www.philharmonicsociety.org Hailed by The New York Times as the hottest artist on the classical music planet, internationally acclaimed pianist Lang Lang has played on the worlds grandest stages: the 2014 World Cup concert in Rio with Plcido Domingo to celebrate the final game; the 56th Grammy Awards, where he performed with Metallica; and the Opening Ceremony of the 2008 Beijing Olympics, where more than four billion people around the world viewed his performance, to name just a few.     Emerson String Quartet October 22, 2015 | Thursday at 8:00 p.m. Samueli Theater. Seasoned Chamber Music Series subscribers think of its players as family. It makes any Emerson appearance here a memorable occasion.     Carl St.Clair, conductor David Fray, piano Bright Sheng: Black Swan for Orchestra Schumann: Piano Concerto Brahms: Symphony No. 1 Brahms famously put off writing a symphony for years, so intimidated was he with comparisons to Beethoven. What he eventually wrote was well worth the wait infinitely rich, astonishingly simple and exquisitely enchanting. Bright Shengs piece is set to a tender piano melody created by Brahms. And Schumanns Piano Concerto never fails to delight. Described as, Perhaps the most inspired, certainly the most original Bach player of his generation, David Fray maintains an active career as a recitalist, soloist and chamber musician worldwide.     Phantoms of the Orchestra October 24, 2015 | Saturday at 10:00 and 11:30 a.m. Rene and Henry Segerstrom Concert Hall. Tickets start at $15. www.pacificsymphony.org Magic Circle Mime Company A Halloween spectacular uniting the orchestra and visual theater: The maestro and his terrified assistant use the power of the baton to control a ghoulish orchestra! The story of the Sorcerers Apprentice is brought vividly to life in this concert, which also features instantly recognizable selections from Bachs Toccata and Fugue and Mussorgskys Night on Bald Mountain.     Lila Downs - Day of the Dead Concert October 25, 2015 | Sunday at 6:00 p.m. Rene and Henry Segerstrom Concert Hall. Tickets start at $49 www.scfta.org Grammy Award-winning Mexican-American music star Lila Downs, who fuses popular music genres and indigenous Mexican music, celebrates Da de Muertos (Day of the Dead) at Segerstrom Center for the Arts. Downs will showcase some of her newest songs from Balas y Chocolate (Bullets & Chocolate) that was released on March 24, 2015. The recording features Colombian musician Juanes, a three-time Latin Grammy Award-winner. Her impressive vocal range is as much a musical delight as a platform for her concerns for social justice in Mexico. Segerstrom Center for the Arts presents:

    Room on the Broom October 25 & 31, 2015 | Sunday at 1 and 3:30 p.m., Saturday at 10 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. (Please note October 25 at 1 p.m is an ASL interpreted performance. October 31 at 10 a.m. is a sensory-friendly performance.) Samueli Theater. Tickets start at $20 www.scfta.org The witch and her cat are flying happily on their broomstick until a stormy wind blows away the witchs hat, bow and wand. A helpful dog, bird and frog find the witchs lost things, and they all hop on the broom for a ride. But this broomsticks not meant for five and CRACK the broom snaps in two! When a

    hungry dragon appears, who will save the poor witch? And will there ever be room on the broom for everyone? Filled with songs, laughs and scary fun for children aged 4 and up (and their grown-ups), this delightful show is an adaptation of the popular book by Julia Donaldson and Axel Scheffler, creators of The Gruffalo.

    Segerstrom Center for the Arts is unique as both an acclaimed arts institution and as a multi-

    disciplinary cultural campus. It is committed to supporting artistic excellence on all of its stages, offering

    unsurpassed experiences, and engaging the entire community in new and exciting ways through the

    unique power of live performance and a diverse array of inspiring programs.

    Previously called the Orange County Performing Arts Center, Segerstrom Center is Orange Countys

    largest non-profit arts organization and owns and operates the 3,000-seat Segerstrom Hall and intimate

    250-seat Judy Morr Theater, which opened in 1986, and the 2,000-seat Rene and Henry Segerstrom

    Concert Hall, which opened in 2006 and also houses the 500-seat Samueli Theater, the studio

    performance space and Boeing Education Lab. A spacious arts plaza anchors Segerstrom Center for the

    Arts and is home to numerous free performances throughout the year as part of Segerstrom Center for

    the Arts ongoing Free for All series. The American Ballet Theatre William J. Gillespie School at

    Segerstrom Center opens in 2015.

    The Center presents a broad range of programming for audiences of all ages, including international

    ballet and dance, national tours of top Broadway shows, intimate performances of jazz and cabaret,

    contemporary artists, classical music performed by renowned chamber orchestras and ensembles, family-

    friendly programming, free performances open to the public from outdoor movie screenings to dancing on

    the plaza and many other special events. The Centers arts-in-education programs are designed to

    inspire young people through the arts and reach hundreds of thousands of students each year.

    In addition to the presenting and producing institution Segerstrom Center for the Arts, the 14-acre campus

    also embraces the facilities of two independent acclaimed organizations: Tony Award-winning South

    Coast Repertory and a site designated as the future home of the Orange County Museum of Art.

    Segerstrom Center for the Arts is also proud to serve as the artistic home to three of the regions major

    performing arts organizations: Pacific Symphony, the Philharmonic Society of Orange County and

    the Pacific Chorale, who contribute greatly to the artistic life of the region with annual seasons at

    Segerstrom Center for the Arts.

    Free Public Tours Segerstrom Center offers tours of Southern California's award-winning home for the performing arts and its expanded facilities. The tours take visitors through the three venues, making this a perfect outing for groups or anyone who wants to know more about the performing arts. The tour is conducted by Center Docents. Public tours are conducted Wednesdays and Saturdays at 10:30 a.m. Private group tours are by reservation only. Please note: Private and public tours of all Segerstrom Center halls are now available.
