To the de- light of participants, the rain stopped just before the start of the race. Pennington said, “My goal is to build this 5K into a yearly community event. I would like to see our local community join together every year to help the fight against breast cancer.” (continued next page) Speaking to the crowd prior to the race, Dr. David A. Mullins, Cancer Liaison Physician, Com- mission on Cancer, American College of Surgeons, and Chair- man of the Breast Center at PCH, described the innovative work being done at the hospital to provide the highest level of qual- ity breast care for the women in southern West Virginia and south- west Virginia.
