I doubt very many of you who are reading this article think of yourselves as “heroes,” but I get the sense that times are calling us to be just that. Think of the faces of those you love—Do they love Jesus? Like Moses and Joshua—two ordinary men—we may find ourselves leading those we love, as well as complete strangers, into God’s promises. We are so glad for all who give to this ministry to spread the Gospel. Below are different ways that you can get involved: Calling all Ark Builders! When our President, Don Black, was praying about coming to CornerStone Network, he saw the image of “the Church” as God’s Ark in Get Ready To Make A Difference! New Program: HANNAH HELP ME! Airs: Mondays @ 10:30 PM; Fridays @ 3 PM 30 Minutes Hannah Keeley (executive producer/host) puts desperate moms through a two-day life skills makeover. Instead of altering the life conditions that a person has created, Hannah alters the person who has created the life. CornerStone Showcase: BONHOEFFER: AGENT OF GRACE Airs: Saturday, October 19 @ 7 PM; Sunday, October 27 @ 1 PM 90 Minutes Dietrich Bonhoeffer, a highly regarded Lutheran minister, could have kept quiet and saved his life — instead he opposed the Nazi regime and paid the ultimate price. Thanks to a new partnership, you’re fighting hungerand sharing the Gospel in Pittsburgh.
Beginning in the Fall of 2013, a portion of your generous giving to CornerStoneNetwork helps to support the Pittsburgh Dream Center … What is this ministry? ThePittsburgh Dream Center was founded by Gary and Amanda Brougher – a dedicatedcouple who left their Pittsburgh hometown years ago, so that Gary could attend OralRoberts University.
The couple knew they were following God’s will ... The Broughers answered God’s call toreturn to their hometown and start a new ministry. Now the Pittsburgh Dream Center is infull operation and reaches out to the communities of the Mon Valley, emphasizing four areasof concern: Community, Hunger Relief, Discipleship, and Children.
Just one example of this ministry’s impact comes from a recent communityoutreach event in Pitcairn. During the event, families were blessed through music, games, and evangelism — and over 2,000 pieces of clothing weredistributed to 150 residents! One story, in particular, stands out:
Two immigrant families from Africa had recently moved into the area of adistribution site. Both families lived in a small residence together — with their eleven young children! Theyhad come so far and moved so much, they had very little clothing. But through God’s grace, the Dream Centeroutreach was able to provide them with nine boxes and bags of clothing, shoes, dishes, and school suppliesfor the kids. Best of all, Dream Center volunteers were able to pray with them and bless them!
