Motorists can expect traffic conditions to change regularly
in preparation for and during the traffic switch.
Details of the changes and timing will be advertised via onsite
electronic message signs, traffic controllers and police will also
be in place to guide motorists safely through the area.
In the lead up to the traffic switch, pavement work will
be undertaken over a few nights to build up the highway
to the required level at each end of the 2 kilometre stretch.
Additional night work will also be carried out in the first
few weeks following the traffic switch to complete the final
asphalt layers. Reduced speed limits and lane closures will
be in place during this work and motorists are encouraged
to slow down, drive carefully and follow the instructions
of traffic controllers, police and signage.
The department thanks motorists for their cooperation
and patience during construction.
