Plato - beautiful objects incorporated proportion, harmony, and unity among their parts.

Aristotle -the universal elements of beauty were order, symmetry, and definiteness

Wabi-sabi (侘寂)

"imperfect, impermanent, and incomplete".

nothing lasts, nothing is finished, and nothing is perfect

Wabi = rustic simplicity
