Annual Catholic Appeal As of today, $29,432 has been raised by St Joseph Parish for the Annual Catholic Appeal. This is a wonderful testimony to how all of you stepped up to the plate to support this year’s ACA. That amount represents about 53% of our parish goal of $55,346. However, it only represents the participation of 10% of our families. Fr Brian has challenged ALL the families of the parish to participate—no matter how small the donation. Thank you for what you have done so far. Let’s keep it going! If you have not already done so, please consider making a pledge or donation to the ACA. Thank you!!

40 Days for Life St Joseph parishioners will be praying outside of Spokane Planned Parenthood (123 E Indiana Ave) during the 40 Days for Life Fall 2019 campaign. We are signed up for the 3:00 PM shift every Monday afternoon from September 30th to October 28th. Park across the street at Salvation Army. If you watched the movie, Unplanned, you know how our prayers and presence makes a difference. Stop by even if it’s only for a few minutes. Go to 40daysforlife.com for more info. During 40 Days for Life the Knights of Columbus Council #8872 will be saying the Prayer for Life around the altar after all Saturday evening and Sunday morning Masses from Sep-tember 28th to November 3rd. Join us!

Religious Education This week our 3rd, 4th, and 5th graders are learning how we

grow in faith during Ordinary Time, which we observe twice during each liturgical year—between the Christmas season and Lent and again after the Easter Season until the beginning

of Advent. During Ordinary Time we thank God for the op-portunities he gives us to serve others. We ask God to teach us to learn how Jesus lived and treated others, hoping we can learn to follow his way. In practicing Jesus’s footprints we hope to be part of his discipleship by practicing the virtues of faith, hope, and charity.

Registration for Religious Education is ongoing through Oc-tober. You can drop into the parish office during the week or on Sunday mornings to register. Or you can register online via the parish website: stjosephcolbert.org. If you have ques-tions or concerns regarding our program please call Kathy Catron in the parish office.
