Mrs. Roussell’s Classroom Newsletter Oct. 27 th – Oct. 30 th This Week’s Assignments Reading – This week in Reading we will be practicing some short stories with questions that follow. We will really focus on pulling details from the story to support our answers. Writing – We will be working on our Pumpkin Persuasive. Students are writing from the pumpkins point of view, persuading a child to pick them from the pumpkin patch. Spelling – Students will be given Unit 10 Spelling words for the week. Grammar practice will be due Friday. They will be tested over the words on Friday. Math – We continue our work with place value. We will be talking about place value to the hundred thousands. We will focus on comparing and ordering numbers as well as rounding. Social Studies - We are moving back into Social Studies where we will be focusing on economics. Reminders to Parents 1. Remember to check the blog for new pictures and updates. 2. Check your child’s assignment book nightly and ask them about their day at school. 3. Fall Party will be this Friday and I have sent reminders to those of you who have singed up to bring something. Important Dates Fall Party Friday Oct. 30 th (1:30 – 2:30) No School October 23rd October 26th (PD for Teachers) Something to Talk About!
