Mrs. Roussell’s Classroom Newsletter Oct. 24 th – Oct. 28 th This Week’s Assignments Math – Our focus for the next couple of weeks will be multiplication and division. Students need to be practicing their facts at home. Be looking for homework nightly!! Writing – This week we will be working on applying powerful and figurative language into our writing pieces. These are writing pieces the students wrote the very first week of school so we will come back and visit them trying to make them better. Reading –This week we will be looking at powerful and figurative language to help us understand our reading. I will continue to meet with groups to discuss their group books. Social Studies - We are switching back to Social Studies and will begin our unit on Westward Expansion. Reminders to Parents 1. Check your child’s assignment book nightly and ask them about their day at school. Important Dates Parent/Teacher Conferences – October 25 th and 26 th 4 – 8 p.m. Fall Party – October 28 th 1:30 – 2:30 p.m. Trunk or Treat – October 28 th 6:30 p.m. Nature Center Field Trip – November 2 nd Something to Talk About!
