SALE, SALE EVERYWHERE..

But.. the shoes on sale

were unstacked, ugly

and unappealing

Biggest Surprise: Anything appealing..

Was off my allowance!

What did I miss before? The store was small. But the lights and the

reflective grey tiled floor made it look bigger.

Hidden Opportunities?More Organization, especially at the front of the store where the messy

sale section is.

THE BANGLE SHOP

Glitzy and colourful

…and super crammed!

Page 8: Observation lab (areeba siddiqui)

What did I miss before? There are 34 light bulbs in a room that is as small as my kitchen. This makes it bright (a little blinding),

attractive, and glosses the sweaty atmosphere.

Hidden Opportunities?Lots of broken glass bangles on the floor which is a major safety hazard for the workers in the

store. Should have waste basket nearby.

Most surprising thing:

There was no cash register. Pockets of the worker’s shirts served this purpose.

Getting friendly with vegies!

Page 11: Observation lab (areeba siddiqui)

I had assumed that every cart would have a range of different vegetables and fruits.

However, almost every ‘sabzi wala’ (person who sells the vegies) specialized in a particular

vegetable or fruit.

What did I miss before?

Surprised much?

Oh yes! By the honesty of the tomato seller. From his massive pile of tomatoes, he was taking out the ones that had gone soft. So what did I learn from these humble vegetable sellers? That there is always some startling amount of good in people, where we never expect it.
