OBIA 7.9.6.2 HR AnalyticsFirst Look at OBIA HR Analytics irst
2010
We have installed and configured the OBIA HR 7.9.6.2 for a client and thought of sharing with you the look and feel of the product. We have done installations for many clients. We get the same old question what dashboards are actually included in HR Analytics It was little bit of a challenge setting up OBIA as we need to cross multiple technical hurdles like installing OBIEE 10g, Informatica 8.6.1 and DAC 10.1.3.4. I am not discussing the installation steps here as Shahed is already published another document with those details Running the actual ETL routine needed little more tweaking to ensure all the components like DAC ing Client, DAC Server, Informatica Client, Informatica Server, Informatica Repository, Vision R12 talk to each other. We have a separate paper on this. After we complete the last step of setting up the correct Connection pools in the delivered OracleBIAnalyticsApps.rpd we can see the OBIA login screen .rpd
Oracle delivers many Business functions but for now we are going to look at one or two areas within Human Resources. For the purpose of this document we have used the Oracle delivered Vision data HR area contains the following groups of dash boards

tab presents the a bit more detailed information with the ability to drill to the lowest level of employee
is a new functionality that most of the existing customers managed to build using custom route. The following shows the employee count to draw attention and with drill capability but I raw must say that the Deliver BI Calendars developed by Shahed deliver lot more functionality and are fit for he functional purpose unlike the ones below.
When clicked on absence the employee level details are shown

The absence calendar data can be further filtered using the additional options given to present more meaningful data
Rather than going through all the other areas of Human Resources, for now I will introduce just one more section which is the most interest of all - Foundation Intelligence Library interesting
This area look to be a treasure chest but the only issue is what to make of the treasure as there are so many advanced measures and wonder how many customers really understand what these mean. Nevertheless lets have a quick view of Absence Gallery There are a series of tabs within each of the galleries

I think the best part is on the last tab which shows lot more dash boards that are not set to visible out of box

There is a lot of functionality that is delivered as part of OBIA but wonder how many customers have reached this stage of analytical reporting the progression being transactional, exceptions and reporting, analytical.
