Functions of Performance Management

With the performance management function, you can collect,

query and make statistics on the performance data of all the

devices so as to learn the running status and performance of

the current network.

It is of great help for you to predict the running status of the

network, avoid the network accident, and make a reasonable

plan on the network management.

Basic Concepts

Measuring Unit

Measuring unit is a combination of multiple measuring entities,

answering the question what the measuring operation

measures.

Measuring ObjectMeasuring object is the measured physical or logical entities or

their combinations, such as trunk circuit group.

Measuring Entity

Measuring entity is an element for which data must be

collected in a measurement, such as traffic and number of calls.

Functions of Task Management

Task management module provides the function of creating

and managing collection tasks.

The collection tasks collect data according to the time interval

set in the collection cycle.

Create a Collection Task

Create tasks by selecting the device type, device name,

measuring unit, measuring objects, polling period and duration.

Test a Task

When creating an SNMP task, you can click to test the

task. The test result indicates whether the status

corresponding to a measuring object is successful.

Collection Task Management

You can modify, suspend, resume or delete an existing task, as

well as view detailed information of a task by selecting the

device.

Synchronize Task

With the synchronizing operation, the tasks in the BAM can be

synchronized to the performance management module for

management and maintenance.

Add a Performance Alarm Threshold

Add performance alarm threshold for the measuring entities.

Depending on the alarm threshold and alarm levels added,

corresponding alarms will be generated.

Data management supports querying of original performance

data.

By setting different parameters in the query panel, you can

query the original performance data by measuring object and

task.

Query the collected original data within the specified period of time.

Set Data Security Term

Set the security term for the saved performance data. You can

set a time segment starting from the current date, in which the

data is protected from being deleted, typically in 3~6 months.
