This property is one o the ew

tracts o undeveloped land in the inner-ring

suburbs so we are very pleased that so

much o the property will be permanentlyprotected green space. The development

as planned brings new and important

assets to our community. In addition to new

park land, the City will add hundreds o

much-needed obs and tax revenue rom

the retail development. Best o all, we’re

gaining these new assets without any

investment o public money. First Interstate

is generously providing this green space

and will pay or all road improvementsand amenities or the development. This

is a win-win or everyone and we look

orward to working with First Interstate to

ensure that the development is attractive,

environmentally sustainable and embraces

the character o our walkable, green

neighborhoods.

SIT PLAOAWOO COMMOS A OAWOO

“This deal would improve the environmental

quality o the property in terms o soil, roots, canopy

cover, streambank stabilization, sediment control,

stormwater iniltration and management, plant and

wildlie habitat and diversity, and water quality in

ine Mile Creek. We’d get a smaller amount o betterquaty reen sace, and a net gain o trees over what’s

there now… This proect is the perect solution or our

landlocked city – new income and improved green

space n an nner-rn suburb. It will draw shoppers and

homebuyers back to our community… This deal would

leave more than a third o the S space natural, restored

rom the degraded horrendous gol course condition

it’s in now. Like the constructed wetland on reen, it

would be restored to higher quality green space than it

is today.

” Jane Goodman,

Member o South uclid City Council (Ward 4)Outreach & Communications irector,

Cuyahoga iver Community Planning Organization

PSVISPACSome opponents have erroneously claimed that the proposed

development will destroy open green space. In act, the

private Oakwood property has been o-limits to local

residents or more than 100 years. Plus, the property is zoned

or residential development and so could be developed with

a subdivision o 142 houses without any zoning changes.

ow, with this proposed plan, 21 acres east o evere oad

in South uclid will be preserved as open green space.

enerations to come will be able to enoy this new parkland

without concern o new development.
