Forensic engineering is the application of engineering principles to the
investigation of failures or other performance problems. Failures are not all
catastrophic, such as when a building or bridge collapses, but include facilities or
parts of facilities that do not perform as intended by the owner, design professional
or constructor.
The Forensic Planning committee cordially invites you to attend the 6th Congress on Forensic Engineering at the Hyatt Regency San Francisco, October 31 – November 3, 2012, as we celebrate the 75th
Anniversary of the Golden Gate Bridge. Learn about the “Building of the Golden
Gate Bridge” from author, lecturer, keynote speaker and Chair of the 75th
Anniversary project, Raymond “Paul” Giroux, P.E., M.ASCE.
This three-day technical program is designed with four concurrent technical
tracks, committee meetings, panel discussions, demonstrations and more. In
addition, technical tours are planned to expound on the Congress theme,
Gateway to a Safer Tomorrow. Join us on the following technical tours:
• Oakland Bay Bridge Project
• California Academy of Science
• San Francisco City Hall
