The Partners in Education program links businesses and organizations with schools to share resources, both in people and materials. Each flourishes from the support and prosperity of the other. Schools must prepare today’s students for their entry into a diverse, competitive work force. When businesses take part in the education of these young people, they help strengthen the work force of the future. The Partners in Education program is vital in helping the community and the school system work and grow together.

The general requirements are simple: • The partnership needs to provide a benefit to the school, and be mutually beneficial to the business

through cause-related marketing not advertising.• We define a partnership as at least three activities throughout the school year, which we feel is the

minimum for a partner relationship.• The partnership activities must fulfill a need of a school, as determined by the principal and the

school’s Partners in Education Coordinator. For more information, or to become a Partner, please contact:Dr. Janet Rasmussen or Laurene Householder @ (407) 852-3200

ORHS Attendance DepartmentRegular school attendance is critical for academic success and it is a baseline factor in determining

student success. Our goal is to ensure that every student attends school regularly and on time. Even as children grow older and more independent, families play a key role in making sure students get to school safely every day and understand why attendance is so important for success in school and in life. Please remember: Not all absences are excused, merely providing a note is not enough to excuse an absence. The reason provided on the note must be considered before granting the excused absence.

**Truancy is not just about missing school. It often involves other obstacles that are preventing a student from attending school. We are here to provide assistance and connect our students and their families with school and community resources that can help them to get back on track with their difficulties. Please call Mrs. Bland @ ext. 6102233 for general info about attendance (codes, excuses, field trips, etc.) or Mrs. Lopez @ 6102232 if you have any questions about truancy procedures.
