What is a Communication and Good Neighbor Plan?

4
•No surprises – Clear, concise, and transparent communications support businesses, residents, and travelers to plan on a day-to-day basis. All the while, maintain focus on the big picture and milestones.
•Manage expectations – Goal is that all key audiences understand construction impacts. It is always better to over-communicate with proactive rather than reactive information.
• View all work as construction – Whether it is surveying, field work, inspections, pre- or post-construction mobilization/demobilization.

•Recongize construction has real-time impacts to neighbors and users – they may need quick responses to resolve concerns.
•Recognize existing sense of place – Unique elements or wayfinding can add a touch of whimsy and education to sometimes bleak construction.
