What we offer Year 9 to Year 13 Samoan Language classes. Course Outline Year 9 and 10 students are placed in a core class at each year level and stay with this group for core subjects (English, Mathematics, Science, Social Studies, Health & Physical Education) with 2 x ½ year modules focusing on Art and Technology. Year 9’s core class (9OT) stay together, while Year 10’s core class (10OT) mix and mingle with mainstream for their options. NCEA Level 1-3 O Le Tupu’aga students will have access to all subject options. Depending on their year level will determine how many subjects they can choose. Please note: Samoan Language is a University approved subject if students achieve 14+ credits at Level 3.

OTU celebrates important Events

throughout the year:

• NCEA Achievers night (Term 1)

• Polyfest (Term 1)

• Independence Day (Term 2)

• Samoan Language Week (Term 2)

• Cultural Activities (Ongoing)

OTU Student Expectations

• Attendance: 90% and above.

• Uniform: Dress to show pride within the Unit

and the school

• Behaviour: Best behaviour is a MUST.

Students who do not display our values towards

other students and teachers will be removed

from the Unit.

Aiga commitment

Attendance to fono or talanoa to support your

child’s learning in OTU is expected.

To enrol into OTU please arrange an appointment

through the school’s main office to meet with

Faamao Seumanutafa, Head of O Le Tupu’aga.
