• Carmina Burana means Songs of Beuern• Carmina Burana is a set of 24 poems• Poetry was written by monks in the 11th century
• Themes about drinking and bad behavior
• Carmina Burana is probably the most famous piece of music composed and premiered in Nazi Germany
• Orff is most well known for his contributions to music education. • The Orff method of music education uses very basic, everyday activities in the creation of music by young people.
• This includes singing in groups and performing vocal music, rhymes and playing instruments such as the xylophone, glockenspiel, and other percussive instruments
