The Japanese Crane.

Red Crowned Cranes are the second rarest crane in the world. They live in the snow and eat the fish they can find. Crane are mainly white and have bits of black on their neck and wings, sometimes some red on their head if they are red crowned cranes.

The New Zealand Kiwi.

The Kiwi cannot fly, and lives in burrows on the ground.Its diet is mainly worms, spiders, bugs, grubs and fruit.

The Japanese flag.

The Japanese flag is very different to the New Zealand flag. The red circle in the middle represents the sun.

On the New Zealand flag there stars many people wonder what they represent. They represent the southern cross.

Japan

There are four main islands: Hokkaido, Honshu, Shikoku and Kyushu. There are also nearly 4,000 smaller islands! Japans nearest mainland neighbours are the Siberian region of Russia in the north and Korea and China south. The capital of Japan is Tokyo as most people know.

New Zealand

New Zealand has won the rugby world cup twice, once in 1987 and then again in 2011. There are four islands in New Zealand but we have two main islands the north and south. The capital of New Zealand is Wellington.
