Do you want to perform in orchestral ensembles at the highest national level? Are you a keen young musician who wants to improve your ensemble skills?Do you want to meet like-minded young people with a passion for great music?Are you aged between 8 and 25 and have links to Scotland i.e.

• Born or living in Scotland• Studying in Scotland, or;• with Scottish family

If you do, then NYOS wants to hear from you!

Just complete one application form to be considered for all NYOS classical orchestras. Following the audition process we will be in touch to advise you whether or not you have been successful and which ensemble you are being invited to join.

NYos outstanding Auditionee AwardA bursary Award of 75% of the annual membership will be rewarded to the auitionee who performs the best audition of all the applicants and shows the utmost commitment to NYOS.

NYos bursariesOnce you have tried all the relevant possibilities in the NYOS Directory on pages 10 & 11 and have applied for assistance from your school, college, university and local authority without any success, you can then apply for a NYOS bursary. These are available to help those who genuinely can’t afford to pay the fees. NYos travel bursariesTravel bursaries are available for successful orchestra members who have to travel a great distance to residential courses, e.g. Outer Hebrides, Orkney, Shetland, Dumfries etc.
