Asset DataQuestion Answer
Was the Building Fully Accessible for Inspection? Yes
Principle(s) Information
Principal Name Stanley Teitel
Principal Organization Stuyvesant HS
Meeting with Principal? Yes
Principal Feedback The principal had the following comments: 1. His primary
concern is the constant break down of classroom incremental
units. Currently about 10% are not working. 2. Lack of adequate
service contracts prevents properly servicing of some building
equipment. 3. The electronic system controlling clock time is not
working everywhere. Currently over 156 clocks are not working
properly. 4.The Gyms lack any air conditioning and have few
operable windows for natural ventilation. The extensive glass
block areas on the east wall allows too much solar heat gain
producing unbearable heat year round. Solar screening is needed
for glass block walls plus the installation of more operable
windows. 5. Protective screens are needed at electric heat units in
Gym and other areas for protection from ball throwing and
vandalism.
