General ObjectivesGeneral Objectives

1. Apply the nursing process in providing care for ้ postpartum wom

en both normal and abnormal cases

2. Provide care for newborn who stays with the mother after birth

3. Provide instruction for the mothers about postpartum self-care and infant care as well as family planning services

1. Assess mothers’ problems and needs, plan and provide care as well as evaluate the outcome of nursing care.

2. Provide instruction for mothers about correct postpartum self-care and infant care, family planning, and postpartum medical check-up

3. Prepare postpartum mothers and medical equipment for appropriate obstetric examination and treatments

4. Prepare and provide care for the mother with cesarean birth and the mother with abdominal tubal resection

5. Provide advice for breastfeeding initiation and breastfeeding problem solving
